I'm interested in buying a 04 wagon wrx with a complete 04 STI doner. The owner says that it doesn't have cruise control because of a rear o2 sensor from the STI. He also said it could be fixed. Any one knows how to fix this problem or if it could be done.

Another ?. The air bag light is on, on his dash. So the STI seats don't have side air bags. how would you eliminate that. I'm a freaken nick pick and seeing lights on a dash cluster. it drives me crazy.

    Any input would help.

Sure they do. Think Lotus Elise. Huuuuge sunroof ;) As far as the seats, what kind are they? They should have side airbags if they're USDM STI seats.

i'm not 100% sure but i think if you have a cel blinking your cruise is not going to run..
pull codes see what they are, clear them, try cruise control.
rear o2 code is probobly due to running catless.
there are a few ways to fix the issue, but make sure it's the real problem.

also, if he had a utec w/launch control enabled make damn sure he didn't wire the clutch switch in paralell. i think that does much bad things to your electrical system.

for the airbag warning, the 04's have seat bags.... what year is the wagon??
i believe 03 and 04 are compatable.... 02 is not.....
.......but that shouldn't matter, if it is running an 04 ecu.... why did he not run the seat hartnesses????

04 ecu and 04 seats should = no more airbag warning....

Disopope, we found out that it was the rear o2 sensor that needs to be replaced, he said it was common for the sti's and as for the seats, it just needs to get pluged back in. he was afriad that if he ever gets into any accidents, he didnt want the sti seats bags to be deployed.

    Thanks
