Last night, between 730pm and 8pm, was traveling on 694W towards 35W South. There was a car partially in my lane that was pulled over with its hazards on. I moved over a little bit to give them room then merged onto the exit ramp. as I was coming in I saw a shredded tire just before I hit it. The tire smacked the lip on the passenger side, ripped up both sides of the wheel well, smacked the passenger door, then bounced out form under the rear wheel. This was a very unhappy camper. Here are some of the pics from last night and this morning. Sorry if my potatoe didnt take the best photos but its what I got. I will be heading to White Bear Subaru and a few other places for quotes on repairs and what all needs to be fixed. Any input on good shops would be appreciated. Thanks guys and gals.
Latuff Brothers in St. Paul does great work, they did my bumper when I was rear ended. Also I would be cautious of filing an insurance claim, if you were considering.
I've had good experiences with Collision Center in Golden Valley. I've heard good things about Sears Imports Body Shop in Plymouth too.
Depending on your explanation to Progressive, they will more than likely consider your claim as an At Fault accident.
Figured. Sigh, oh well. Both feet first. Just want my car fixed ASAP. Still gotta love that we got to pay for other peoples idiot mistakes.
Similar thing happened to me on my brz. Was parked at cub foods and someone swung out of their parking spot and took paint off my rear bumper.

Also they will consider this a at fault accident. I hit a tree limb that had fallen on a dirt road up north with my wrx and it was a AF accident
Robbery I tell you. Changed my address from Maple Grove to New Brighton and my cost jumped $35 because of "poorer road conditions." Robbing us blind I tell ya.
Its ok I went from Burnsville and a drive of 25 miles to work to st Paul and a 7 mile drive to work and my insurance went up $65 a month.
I called my agent before I posted. Stupid me. Pretty much better drive like a saint for the rest of this year. Hooray.
I've had great experience using Wreck-A-Mended in Prior Lake. It's a bit of a drive from my house in Richfield, but the guys there did fantastic work and handled all the negotiation with my insurance company for the time I used insurance to pay for damage. Jim

I have Progressive. I had a deer run into mine this fall. With the insurance package I have, I was able to take it to a Progressive Claims center, drop the car off, pick up a rental, have the car repaired through one of their repair shops, drop off the rental and pick up my car. By using one of their preferred shops(not ABBRA) the repairs have a lifetime guarantee. All taken care of in less than 2 weeks. Repairs are good, I can't tell it was ever damaged.
Well, if you are going to White bear, I would also hit up Centry collision. They are right off of century and 7th in North St. Paul. They are booked out to Feb, but they do great work. They are going to fix my mashed up FXT. Russ
Thank you all for your help. I just got off the phone with progressive rep. If anyone cares how this is turning out I'll keep posting on this thread. He filed it as a no fault claim, I won't see any hikes or too much negative feedback from this incident. The BRZ was going to go to White Bear, but apparently the didn't have a body shop. The BRZ is going to Crystal Collision (I've used them before and it is right up the road from work). I got a rental taken care of. Here is hoping I can get everything squared and look back at this as just an unpleasant new years. Thank you all again.
Yea, the actual rep I talked to was actually in Texas. So I had to articulate things a but more. So now I wait since more than likely they won't even touch the car till Monday. Got an ugly red Chrysler 200 for a rental lol.
The grand total for damage right now is about $1750. They said they would cover everything. Crystal Collision is waiting on parts then its go time. By next Monday I should be golden. Can't wait to have my baby back!
