Well what's up MNSubaru! I just picked a 2011 Plasma Blue STI sedan from a local dealer after a member traded it in. I got an absolute steal on the car and couldn't be happier! It'll cross 36k miles this weekend sometime. Justin, the previous owner, put a bad ass sound system on it and that was a huge selling point for me, that and getting it for so much under book!

A little background, my previous car was a Sonic Blue 03 drop top termi Cobra that made 508whp at DB Performance and before that a Graphite Grey Evo IX GSR/SE that made 494whp, also at DB Performance.

I'm a couple months away from finishing my degree in Practical Nursing to get my LPN once I pass the boards. I picked this up because I just wanted something newer, with less miles, that can be a blast to drive while still being comfortable and hold its resale value like a champ!

My plans for the car are mild, as I want to keep the car's reliability as the highest priority. I picked it up this last Monday and already have got to work. I purchased from another member on here (who traded in his hatch) an AEM Intake, Cobb Access Port, Invidia Cat less downpipe, Cobb shift knob, Perrin SI drive knob, PTP turbo blanket, Grimmspeed Air/Oil separator, Rays red lug nuts, Defi boost gauge, and a set of barely used snow tires, all for 1300 bucks so that was awesome! Thanks Allen!!
I also am purchasing the rest of the catback exhaust from a member on here named Johnny. The AEM intake and access port are on the car now, haven't had time for the rest, being a full time student and working full time.

I plan on attending the Grimmspeed meet on Saturday as my first MNSubaru meet, to hang with some friends and hopefully make some new ones. Then the day will end with a trip to NF to have Nuke throw on the exhaust and do a quick tune and i'll be sittin pretty for a while!!! PHEW!

Sorry for the long winded post, if any of you are around Saturday I'll see ya there!
    Derek

P.S. If anyone has a quality recirculated BPV they're looking to get rid of let me know!! Can shoot me a text, that's probably the easiest. 320 304 0986

Welcome and post up some pics. Good luck with the boards, I know they are not easy. I'm also an LPN too and know what it's like with the schooling involved. We can always use more Murses lol.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I'm new to the Subaru community, but not new to the forums. I'm still pretty active on EvoMN and EvoM, as well as thumbin through SVTPerformance occasionally. I'll definitely try and get some pics up when a break from homework happens!

Looks like a lot of you have gone to Nuke for tunes, thoughts before he touches my car on Saturday? I've heard nothing bad but if anyone has any factual input, it'd be appreciated. See you all at the Grimmspeed Event if you're attending!

You got a steal on all those parts! You have more mods completed on your short ownership then I have completed in 2 years!

Phew! I'd say I can't believe how busy school is, but I'm used to it at this point! I'm kind of bummed I missed the Grimmspeed event. I really wanted to make it, but we ended up getting a little sidetracked on the way and decided to go straight to Nuke's.
Anyway, they threw the exhaust on and a good tune and I couldn't be happier with the car! I've been daily driving the car to school, work, and around town with some occasional spirited use of the right foot and I'm really liking the STI! There are a few areas that it doesn't compare to my Evo, but I don't miss it too much yet. It's been kind of crappy weather here, but we plan on having a little Saturday night Dip sesh tonight so I'll try and get the motivation to throw up some pics after the wheels get PlastiDipped and we throw the lug nuts on! I know it's winding down with winter coming up but hey, we drive Subaru's so a little snow shouldn't slow us down! I can't wait to throw the snow tires on and see what events and meets happen over the winter! Look forward to meeting some more of you guys, Allen and Johnny were awesome!! Thanks for the parts gentlemen!!

Well here are a few photos of the STI now that I've done a few things to make it my own. Sorry its a little dirty, it sees some gravel on my way to work, but hey its a Subaru right?? Nothin to fancy yet, but enjoy!

thanks again for the warm welcome everyone! Funny thing about the plate is it's actually the previous owner's (a member on here as well) My plates showed up to the dealership so i'll be giving these back to Justin and getting my own, still haven't decided what to go with, I have a few Ideas though!

Next round of mods will be a good recirc'ed bypass valve, I'm thinking Go Fast Bits or Turbosmart and an externally gated up pipe, Maybe Grimmspeed and an external wastegate, probably Tial or Turbosmart with a dump tube. Any thoughts or inputs on which one to go with, or others out there? I'll probably call it quits after that for a while, still need to do research on what the stock motor can handle.
