Hey guys - Just got a 2014 White WRX last week from Morries with 1700 miles (it was on Carsoup for awhile). What a great car - love that generation body style with flared fenders and curvy lines, and I wanted to stay with the 2.5 engine with 5-speed for the quickness. I was a previous tcstangs guy with a Cobra Mustang that did a lot of NASA track events around the midwest so I used to chase down a lot of Evos and STIs on the track and I was always jealous of the performance of the AWD turbos. Probably looking to get new sway bars and end links, but other than that I don't think that car needs anything else right now - it feels like it has a short throw-shifter (compared to our Saab), but I am not sure if it does or not. It's also got a good stock rumble to it and I've heard a lot of tuners say to stay away from the typical cold air intake type mods if I am not going to get new injectors and a new tune for it (which I am not). Anyway, hope to see you guys out on the road or at an event! Dan
It's a WRX Premium Sedan. I didn't grab any of the Carsoup pictures, but it is the typical 2014 White WRX sedan all over google images. Cobra pics are somewhere on my computer...I'll look for some good track pics at RA. I have one picture of the WRX I took in the parking lot at work - here it is!
Very nice. The flared fenders and curvy lines influenced my purchase too. I went with the other side of the color spectrum though. Check out the swap meet, who knows someone might have bars and endlinks.
Ha ha, yeah it is tempting to just start ordering stuff for it (like the up/down pipes and cat back). But with a 7yr/100k warranty on it I am too scared to do anything
One thing I do regret was buying too nice of wheels and being scared of going on dirt... in a subaru. Time to buy a crap pair of Rotas for shenanigans
Do your self and leave it stock for a while...learn the "car" at a few track events and then mod what you don't like...if you so choose. Welcome to the forum, and hopefully I'll see you out at some track/autox events. The 11+ WRX is in fact the "D-Stock rocker" in autox right now
AutoX is a blast - I remember my first few events with my 98 Cobra back in 2006 - good times! But once I found out about HPDE track events I never went back - very addicting traveling to road race tracks in WI, MI, IL, IA, OH and really seeing what the car can do. 3 years of that and I was ready to get my pro license and dedicated race car, but it never happened. I filled up my NASA log book with the required hours but had to call it quits - too much time and money to go to the next step. I'd like to head up to BIR with TTM this summer, but that means I'd have to bleed the brakes and put in some real fluid if I'm gonna go corner carving.
Nah, we all went our separate ways once our track days were over - some of them even went on to buy Chevys...
