OK, so today in the mail i got my HID kit. After 3 hours of installation time i realized that my high beam and my low beam are reversed. What could be the problem and how to fix it. BTW, i did do everything like the manual said. Thanks, Taras
DRL relay perhaps? Try searching (not posting. They'll rip you a new hole over there and pour vinegar in it) on Nasioc for people who've done the same thing and see what they say.
Well id tell you how i set mine up but its pointless cause you run a different bulb and harness... check your wires with a multimeter... With the high beam turned on you'll read 12volts. And same for the low... then match those up with the Kits wires
the manual did not say much really. It is apparently plug and play so i just plugged everything to where it fits. And it looks like the lights themselves work well, its just reversed. Do you know if its ok that the ballasts and the relay are in such to environment there? Thanks
ok, thats good. I put one of the ballasts next to the battery right behind the light and the other one right behind the light next to the radiator.
Ok, you have many problems with your post. first off, true HID's will not have a high/low beam. there is only one bulb filled with glass, so it is either on or off. Second, what does it do?? How do you know they are backwards?? What do the lights in the dash do vs the headlights?? Russ
Ok, i will make it as clear as possible. First of all this is a true Xenon HID kit. It is a Bi-Xinon with two Xenon filled glass bulbs in one. Second, when i plugged everything in and turned on the lights i get hight beam when on the dash it says i am in low beam and when i flick the switch to high beam i get low beam. How can i tell? I can tell by the pattern of the light, low beam(which is high beam on the dash) is pointing more in fron of the car and is more spread out. High beam(low beam on the dash) is pointing up and look more like a high beam. My guess is that it could be a little connector that goes in one of the stock light harnesses to tell the HID kit which lights to turn on. I do not have DRL. Thanks, Taras
So then just flip flop the 2 ground wires. By the way, everything in the wrx is a switching ground system, so you have 1 hot wire (+12v) and 2 ground wires for your headlights. Russ
Which two i need to flip flop? The ones in the harness or the ones that are coming out of the hid kit?
The 2 (two) GROUND wires. Use a DMM and figure out what wires are hot and ground (should take less than 30 seconds) and flip them. I would make the change on the aftermarket harness so if you ever put your stock bulbs back in they will still work. Russ
And you unpluged the DRL box under the dash?? You need to do more than unplug the resistor box under the hood. The drl box is under the dash on the pass side (behind the glove box), and IIRC you need to pull the white plug. Russ
I didnt unplug anything at all. I never had drl cause when my car was on during the day my lights would be off and only turn on when I turn them on. Would you be able too look at the wireing when I come back from Russia in the end of august? Which ones are you talking about?
