HIDs in the mail yo

    that's right i live on an island
    i just ordered some HID bulbs from phillips to go with the ballasts i have just lying around... just wondering if anyone else has done a conversion and how they got the bulbs to stay in place... also are there any USDM subies with stock HID (never noticed any)

    i am not sure. the new LGTs might have HIDs.

    Nope, not yet. Maybe for 07, but I haven't heard any rumors. When we get the new parts catalog updates I can tell you before the first ones hit the showfloor.

    What type of bulb does you car take? The reason it doesn’t' fit is because the Phillips is an oem style bulb (d2s, d2r). If you plan on using it in a halogen reflector housing you need a bulb that has been rebased for your car.

    yup i got ds2 bulbs in the mail yesterday... i will have them in monday or tuesday for sure... i'm thinkin about takin out the plastic guard or whatever in the center so i can really burn peoples eye balls

    Plastic guard? Are you referring to the one on the left (D2R) or the D2S on the right? If you plan to remove the ceramic tubing, I suggest you don't. If you're planning to sand down the paint off the D2R, good luck, I heard it's a ----- to do.[​IMG]

    yea i got one in and it's brighter than the sun! should i maybe black out the housing so it doesn't reflect like crazy or what?... oh yea one bulb burnt out! anyways i can still see the eye worms from looking at it 15 minutes ago... another bulb in the mail...
    yea the only way i can explain is 1000 candle power ain't got nothin on me
