Some of you were asking me about this yesterday, so I took a couple pictures of the hitch.

dammit, my exhaust will not clear that version (although on the site you posted in the other thread that version wasn't even sold for the sti. of course the only one that did fit was the most expensive on lol (and I doubt my exhaust would clear that one either)

    roof basket for carrying wheels?

That's the same hitch I have on my car too. It fits perfect with the stock muffler, and with the magnaflow catback I just bought some kartboy extra long hangers and it clears fine.

Alright maybe ... you are gonna need to have the Q towers on the van which is a 50/50 chance but the roof rails are by far to long and would stick way out on your car. Take pictures of the van if you can then I will get you a price on what you need.

If you just want to carry a cargo basket, you might be able to make some kind of custom mounting system and modify a basket, rather than use a trailer hitch. I'm kinda visualizing something with dual mounting points where the bumper beam bolts on, so it doesn't have to go over the exhaust...

FWIW I had a welding shop in B'ville remove the 1.25" receiver and weld on a 2" receiver so that I could transfer racks betwixt the Rex and Odysseus w/o messing with weaksauce adapters. The parts cost $15 and the welder charged me $20.

eTrailer.com has some options that use a big piece of bent flat steel, not tubing, to angle over the exhaust...might provide relief for cantaloupe launchers.

    HA ha.
    I know, I know.
A new exhaust might not be the smartest for me - I haul a kid to daycare every day, so I've gotta keep the dBA's down.

I have the same one on my car! I have the SPT exhaust, so I had to use Kartboy extended hangers to get the tip to clear the hitch bar.

Bah... if your movin tires... this thing is where it's at
    [IMG]

    It's called the tire tail
attaches to the tire hitch, weighs next to nothing for easy removal, and has an optional wall mount that you can use with the tires still on it.

$130, and totally worth it.... if you need diffrent tires

/me is overjoyed to run Street Tire classes :D

I like the sound of it. Obviously running catless makes it louder than stock DP or even Race Catted DP, but it's has a nice low rumble that isn't annoying. Also looks more stock than watermelon shooters.

How much clearance is lost with the Kartboy extra-long hangers? And anyone have the Maddad Whisper and know about trailer hitch/longer exhaust hanger fittings or clearances (clearance of the trailer hitch or ground clearance)?

I think the ground clearance change on the exhaust is about an inch or less. Depends on how many extended hangers you put on. I left the stock hanger on the midpipe, so only the muffler was lowered, most of the ground clearance was lost right next to the diff. I've hit it a few times, but never hard enough to damage the pipe yet.
