So, I was browsing CraigsList this morning in the electronics section. A Sony PMB50HX1 50" Plasma shows up for $450. I'm like schweet:eek::biggrin: Would be perfect for the formal family room in the new house.

So, I email the seller and ask where he's located and if I can swing by tonight and check it out. He said in the description it had no dead pixels or burn-in. But, can't take their word for it.

So anyways, I'm waiting for a reply and noticed the sale was taken down about half an hour later. I was kinda bummed. Then I just got his first reply to my emails...

You can reach me on this number when I'm not at work; (850)###-####. I haven't sold it yet but I'm receiving too many messages already. I think I will have to remove my AD from craigslist. Well I know you will say it sounds too good to be true but I'm sure you wouldn't be interested if it wasn't this cheap. It's like new with no scratches, no burns, no bad pixels and in perfect conditon. The plasma came with a yr warranty and also has a yr extended warranty and it's only 4months old and it's going with the wall mount. I have the purchase receipts and the warranty receipts as well. I'm selling this for only $450 because I need a quick sale and use the money for another issue so I must sell this ASAP. The plasma is at a fedex location in Maine. I shipped it to a scammer in Maine but was lucky enough to discover his plot before he received it so it is still in the FedEx Kinko in Maine. No problem about the location, It will be shipped to you anywhere you are and I will also take care of the shipping charges. If you are interested, let me know on time so I will hold it up for you and payment is needed urgently. Although I wouId love to receive cash, but I can't because I'm not available right now. You will send me your full name and address so I will ship the plasma to you through fedex 2day delivery. Then I will send you the tracking number and a copy of the shipment label, you track it and when you have confirmed it, you will send part of the payment, $150. So when you receive the plasma and have confirmed it is in perfect condition, you will send the remaining balance of $300 to me. I hope you can be trusted. I will accept part payment via western union. Western union money transfer is preferrable because it is the fastest and since I need the money urgently. kindly get back to me asap if you are really interested. If you want proof, I can send you a copy of my driver's license to prove to you this deal is legit. Call me or just email me back.

    :squint:

Something sounds kinda fishy... Damn scammers. I had a hard on for half of this morning, fukers.

Funny part is you have no way to prove whats in the box, even if the wieght is right on the tracking number, he could be shipping you bricks in a box, same thing happened to me with an eclpse avn2000s in dash video with hard drive and navigation, but of course i didnt buy it!

Tell him for proof you want a scan of his social security card and his drivers liscense lol.

These damn fudgers will never learn. You need to ask this fudger to give you the # to this fedex and check it out your self.

This is a scam. I'll bet you 450 dollars it's a freakin scam. Tell him to send it to his own house via FedEx and that you'll bring cash to his location to pick it up. There is no reason why he couldn't do that if he is willing to FedEx it to you. Tell him you will exchange the cash for the TV in person or you aren't going to do this. And if he says anything to the contrary, he is a liar. There is 100% absolutely no reason why he would not be able to FedEx it to his own location and have you drive to his location to pick it up from him and give him cash. You can also verify on site if the TV is working.

Well, the area code he gave me is for Florida. So, I don't think the bastard actually lives in MN.

    So, just another scam avoided.

Fake, probably couldn't pay for it himself and when it arrives, you deal with the full amount of the plasma tv even he was telling the truth about where the plasma tv was...

Actually, what they do is, they tell you (like they told him) that they will need a 150 dollar deposit. Then they ship you some empty box. You try to contact them or get money back and they disappear with your 150 bucks. And they usually send you the FedEx, but they mark it as bill recipient. So you are stuck with the bill for shipping it to you.

They'll have a couple dozen of these scams running all at once. That way they maximize it.

The problem with COD is that he is essentially drop shipping it from another location...and he'll tell you that when you mention it. He told you the item is in Maine...and he is in Florida. So, they won't COD that item because they wont send it back to Maine when you don't accept it. He'll tell you that since it is being drop shipped from a location other than his home, that he can't COD it because he wouldn't get the item back. Really, the best scenario is to tell him to pound sand.

Tell him you can't receive FedEX right now becasue your in Nigeria. Then ask him if he can help you get 30 million in cash out by accepting a wire transfer from you (he gets 20%) then all he needs to do is give you a copy of his drivers lic., passport, SS#, DOB, and his youngest daughters virginity.

If he will trust you, then you can trust him ;P
