    sam blew up his original motor and threw a sti motor in it, then sold it six months later.

    ^ incorrect. he blew up the stock 2.5l then put in a v5 (IIRC) motor, which lost oil pressure and then he put in a v8 (iirc) shortblock. although kelly did calculate that sams car has been at 177mph.
