Here's the link to the article. Watch the video at the end. It barely looks like it was ever a car. (source: Autoblog)
That is so sad..... It kinda makes me mad. Lets go get drunk and drive at really high rates of speed.
Why race a car with 5 guys in it? Isn't that about 800 pounds extra weight slowing that car down anyway (not to mention making it more difficult to stop)? Or maybe it was just Saint Darwin's influence... Fly-in communities are all over. There are a lot in FL for the rich retirees down there but we have some in MN as well. I know for certain there is one up near Park Rapids, I think called Sky Manor Estates or something. It's pretty cool, most houses have a taxiway leading up to it and usually a hangar or ramp for parking or tying down your plane. I'm sure this sort of thing happens a lot on those private airstrips.
There are actually several in the country. A good friend of mine growing up lived at one out in Webster. It's pretty cool, each house has it's own taxiway to the runway and each house has a hangar, usually with at least one plane in it.
Apparently he was on this board: http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=111454&page=1 18 and a new M5. :eek3:
I'd call that bad parenting. And people around here get all up in arms when we talk about 18 year-olds with Sti's. This is a good reminder of why we give them a hard time. It's not about jealousy or envy as many of the youngins would like to think.
just plain WOW! who in their right mind would give a kid a new M5. Maybe the parents didnt like the kid or had a big insurance policy.
my guess is that if your parents are parking a plane in your garage next to john travolta's place then you are probably loaded enough to spoil your kids rotten
He didn't live there. Apparently one of the other guys in the car was dating a girl who lived in the community. Also, from the articles I've read it sounds like they may have been drinking and it was raining that night. They had the smarts of a bag of hammers.
