    So heres the theory...

    I would like to organize a home brew party.
    if there is enough interest... we could take up a wing of a hotel and have jolly good times.

    so here are the rules..

    Home brewer -
    Must have at least 1 standard 5 gallon batch for event.
    preferable to have in c02 keg... bottles accepted, not preferred...
    (especially if you re-use your bottles...)

    taste testers -
    Must be legal limit..
    you will be banded, marked... and if in a hotel, you get to sign a cute waiver.. that just says you won't be stupid and your held liable for your actions.

    Cost, for brewers... the cost is that of your 5 gallons of beer, and if at a hotel room... the cost of a room. You will also be given a brewers badge meaning you don't have to pay for a cup. details will be worked out later.. but hey... W00t for free beer.

    taste testers are welcome... it will cost you rougly 10.00 plus hotel room is you get one. (highly recomended) the 10.00 will all be pooled and distribed amungst the brewers. so brewers will hopefully cover the cost of your 5 gallons of beer... if enough people show... you might make a few bucks...

    this of course is not expected.. the idea is to have a good time umungsst friends, and to share your special brew with a few other brewers.

    Sooo if your interested... either in being a brewer, or drinker...
    post up

    Brewer - roughly how many might be in your party.
    testor - roughly how many would be in your party.

    Jan 12th is the ideal date set ((allowing time for the hollidays, and propper time to brew your beer))

    woot for beerfest

    Maybe you should be having a E85 party to brew fuel for Wall of TVs and other like minded greenies.:)

    I've been looking at getting into this or winemaking and I'm leaning towards the wine. although I'm not 21 so I guess I'm s.o.l.

    wine making = years of patience...
    mead = years of patience
    beer making 1 - 5 months patience
    drinking = no patience...

    how much patience do you have?

    I might think about doing this. However, I don't keg. But I don't see how it would be a problem to get bottles back from people, or you pour it into a glass/cup and keep the bottle yourself.
    Also, not sure about the date. Might want to push it back, it's only 2 months away. I have some ales that take more than a month to make, lagers take longer. Plus with the holiday's around the corner, i don't know when I'll have time to start a new batch for this. I'd rather see this happen later in February or March.

    right now it's getting those interested... then we'll work on a date and kick off an anual thing.
    you don't have to keg... just suggested.

    when the actual event kicks off I will have special cups for the testors and for the brew makers to prevent filthy drinkers from pirating the nector of the gods.

    I'm resigned to the fact that this probably WON'T happen near Duluth....but where is it likely to happen?

    Yeah, what is the legality of transporting an "opened" keg in your car? It would have to be opened to fill it, correct?

    In the trunk, it's fine. In the passenger cabin, it's open container.

    I'm a brewer, but i'm not really interested in a hotel party.

    I will be starting a new batch here soon (Possible this weekend). I have no problems teaching people about homebrewing if they are interested, but it is a lot of standing around durning some parts. Now that I have an external burner I can do this in my garage which is insulated, i have a portable heater, tv, dvd, sterio, ect.

    There's nothing wrong with using bottles. If you don't sanitise them properly your beer doesn't come out right anyways. One Step sucks, using an iodine solution is where its at. My dad brewed a ton of beer for a few years.
