Taras's car thread gave me this idea, post what you find on here for prices of the parts needed and I'll keep this first post updated with prices.

just need to find a totaled wrx to start with...

you mean you want to build a wrx from scratch or get a salvage one and fix that?

for that one i bet you could do it for 4k, but it will be hard. Frame pull will cost atleast 1500 or more and all the parts like lights grill, bumper, and misc stuff will be expensive.

The old ones, not the newer ones. I bet even the bug eye parts are still expensive, however most of the subaru parts are interchangeable.

Are you kidding? The bumper cover for an '02, at 1stsubaruparts is $136. My mom just paid $159 for the rear of her '03 Forester. A taillight for her Forester was $117. I think Jeremt (Deride) paid $115 for a front fender.

Like I said, Subaru body parts are cheap. Its the little stuff, like brackets, clips, and what not that can add up quickly.

yes it is. The body parts for my bugeye were far cheaper than my Cobra. i had to get a new bumper cover my my WRX and it was under $175. My cobra on the other hand costs $425, and that is the cheapest I could find and got quite high at some places.

Taras you are going to loose this battle, those of us that have actually owned a Subaru or 4 know that they are cheap for most parts. You could probably fix that Black WRX for a few grand. Less if you can do body or paint work (or have good friends...). Paint is not all that expensive, I had an FC3 that I had fully painted for $900, just depends on who you know :)

I totaly agree. I was not talking in particular about that black wrx. I bet that one will not cost more than 3-4k to fix.
