I own a 98RS and the horn doesn't seem to work, and yeah i thought i won't be needing it but I DO!...some lady backed up of a parking lot at wal-mart and well a big van was next to her car so it was like blocking her view but then she backed out fast but luckly saw my car and ahhh my horn didn't work! but she stopped in time anyway...

so yeah does anyone here knows how to fix the horn? get it working?

plus is anyone here from ST.P? uh i'm actually from WI but i'll be up in ST.P around July 4th...are there subaru meetings? i'd like to see other subaru's and get info on Impreza/WRX/STi

well first you need to know what's broken.
could be the horns, could be a bad relay, could be a bad wire or connection. could be a bad switch in the wheel.

i would put a meter on the horn to see if you are getting a signal. (need a buddy to honk while you check the meter)one wire in is hot, ground to the radiator frame.

if you get no reading you need to do the same thing on the relay...
if you don't really know how relay's work it may be easier to just pop in a replacement.. they are pretty cheap...

if your horns get no current, and a new relay does not fix it there i would probobly stop there and take it in to a shop.

okay i'll take a look, me and my cousin checked...the relay seems fine, and under the steering wheel too much wires

but i do see two wires between the radiator and battery that isn't connected, and the previous owner says that it might be those 2 wires

they would both be hot wires if they were the horn leads..
    give them a check.

Sounds like your horn is MISSING. It bolts to a bracket immediately in front of the battery, and there are two black wires with plastic connectors that clip to its leads.

I've got a filthy one (works fine) just lying around, since I upgraded mine to a chrome double-unit from JCWhitney. Mounting bolt is not included though (I still needed that), so you might be better served just grabbing one off an Outback in a junkyard, and snagging the bolt too.
