How long have you owned a Subaru?

Just wondering how many people on here are relatively new to subaru's or old balls.

 

since april '04 and im on #2

 

I've been driving subaru's since 2001. But we owned a few old subarus growing up that we just used for beating around with in the fields.

 

Driven them since 89...green 85 GL wagon!

 

7th year wooh! Owned everything from a GL-10 Turbo to a Legacy 2.5GT and I'm on my 5th Subaru.

 

4 years for me and im on my second one.

 

Almost 5 years and I'm on my 3rd sc00b.

 

so shouldnt the poll be

I was a honda guy through and through until ~2001. Been wanting a wrx since then as well. Bought my '04 back in august.

 

almost 2 years for me.

 

Since first year the wrx came out. I loved subarus when I lived in alaska. Great place for them, and wanting to do a drive up there this year actualy. I drove a jeep when i lived there for 6 years though, oh and a celica with studded tires and a moon roof i would stick my head out of while doing donuts on the gravel roads.

 

Since june of 2001 for me.

I'm on my third impreza

 

6 months, my first subaru. Wanted one ever since the first GranTurismo came out, the driving record/finances never worked out until this year. Let's hear it for self control...

 

Yup, I was in the same boat. Not so much with the driving record as much with the finances. I thought I was going to get one right out of college, but I still had to wait another 2 years to pay off a lot of debt I accumulated. +1 on the self control tip.

It's a lot tougher when you have to finance everything on your own.

My friend had one ... and when I drove it the first time I decided that I was never going to buy anything other than a Subaru ever again.

... then he sold it and gave half the payment to his ex for a blaze yellow suzuki aerio.

 

Yup, true to that. I got mine last May.

 

3 years, but have been around them since 01

 

started with a 2 door GL, ('87)
loved the Loyal, ('91)

have had the GT & RS for about 2.5 years.

anyways i'm on 4 yrs and my second subaru!

 

8 years 5th Subaru, 520,000 miles (98 LGT was 210,000 of that, heh)

 

since I paid for it!!!!

 

i've own mine for a week now but have always been a fan of the GC Impreza. i always wanted a RS but couldnt afford one when it came out, plus i was only 14. if i have enough money, i want to ship over an Impreza 22B STi. man that **** is tight!

 

ive got 11months on mine. Sold my 99 Civic si to get it and never looked back. For the past 11 months ive been driving with my face like this:biggrin:

 

6+ years combined with Wife...She said she will never drive a Suby...but look at her now...lol

 

First was in 2001 and the STi was March of last year but wanted it long before it was ever here in the USA.

 

My parents have owned subarus as long as i can remeber. GLs, Loyales, Legacys, ect.... I got my Impreza in march/april of 2004. so right around 3yrs now, and i got my 2nd a 84 Brat just this past august.

 

Bought the '00 RS in Sept '99 (first day they were on the lot)

Bought the '04 STi in May '03 (first day they were on the lot)
-----Was on the waiting list in Jan '03

 

short answer, I've had them for about 5 years, and 5 cars.

long answer: my dad had an '81 GL-5 Sedan for a few years. then about 10 years ago My mom got a '92 legacy, and shortly after my dad got a '92 loyale. about 5 years ago I got my license and started driving the loyale. followed by an '85 GL, and 2 lifted '88 GLs. now, I used the 4WD from the '85, and the motor from the legacy in the loyale to make it what it is now....


not to mention the '94 legacy GT wagon my dad's driving now (I bought it....but now he's using it and I got the motor and front suspension from the '92...). and my mom's '01 legacy sedan.

 

My parents are Ford parents. They think I am insane for driving a japanese car :laugh:

Do a Dune buggy twin turbo setup!

 

Got a '90 Legacy in '98. Wrecked it two years later and got my '93. The rest is history.

 

I've had mine for 3.5 weeks now.

my 2003 wrx wagon hasn't even been in my driveway an entire month and I enjoy the hell out of it!

 

i've had it for 1 week now...but i can't drive it!!! ****en $400 a month insurance

 

I bought mine new on Feb. 1st of 2001

Since 1989, a light blue '86 Loyale wagon fwd. Poor thing couldn't get out of its own way but ran like the Energizer Bunny. On my 4th Subaru now.

 

im going on one year and i still don't have more than some pocket change into it

20,000 miles and shes still running fine
