I figure it's about my turn to post a worthless thread in this OT forum.

Today I quickly (ok, not so quickly) added up all the parts I've put on my car, and amazed myself at the total cost. Oops. Let's hope my GF doesn't read this and slap me. ;)

How much have you guys spent on car mods?

Here's mine in rough draft format (I don't think I forgot anything):

    Code:
    Car Parts	Cost
    Springs 200
    Hella Horns	75
    Wheels/Tires	1000
    Winter Tires	300
    Sways/Links	450
    Tatrix Cable	90
    LC1/Gauge	300
    Maddad Gauges	450
    TXS Stealthback	450
    Maddad Whisper	300
    Tint 150
    Kartboy SS	50
    Stereo 300
    Clear Shield	300
    HID Lights	100
    Panel Filter	35
    Mudflaps	100
    Misc Parts	150

    Total $4650

I guess you guys wish you guys had a boyfriend like mine. =P He spoils my car and me. At most I think I've spent five hundred. For Christmas he got me a dp, my birthday he got me exhaust, Valentines day he got me an access port.. He just got me a new radiator, and he even got me a purse to match with my car. I gots my wingless trunk from him..His old STi seat.. I'm happy.

ok, how about this? Miles per dollar, not including gas or reg maintenance.

number of miles driven in car / ( ( cost of car + upgrades ) - est current value of car )

    50,000miles / (($7000 + $2000) - $4000) = aprox 10 miles per dollar so far for my car.

I have to much into my car, but at the same time, I want to do more.

if you want to feel better about what you have put into your car, those that rent should figure that number out. then do this repeatedly. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

I think it's more than 400. He doesn't have to but he does, he's a good boyfriend, he buys me things he knows I need and not things I just want. Cept for the purse that was a want item that he just decided to get me.

$28k and 110,000 miles on the clock Blue 02 wagon all mine since new.

    Red Wagon is just priceless

Who cares I drive and forget about cost, unlike a Ferari owner who pays up to $8k per yer even if it sits in the garage.

I take it your talking about the Ferari.

I have a friend with 3 of these, he pays to have each of them tuned and maintained each year at a minimum cost of $8k each thats if theres nothing wrong. One year he replaced his motor the block and heads were $100k without the rebuild.

That said all of his cars have made money, you just need to have the money to invest for awhile.

Needless to say this is not in my future.
