For how long? 1 pull? A lot. Multiple pulls, not as much lol. Your 18g should be alright. Just do a lot of heat wrapping and don't expect full timing advance on summer days.

So with fmic I hear that you lose psi but with tmic you will run hotter intake temps. Would it really matter if you increased the tmic or would it be better for intake temps to go fmic?

it can only go so much that you start seeing air come through the hood scoop :p jk but yeah with fmic, you will definitely loose a bit of spool time but can work later down the road.

    Sorry, couldn't resist...

I'd go process west or bust if I had a WRX and was going for a new TMIC.

Front mount. Decide whether you want to retain fog lights, bumper beam, whether you want the pipes to the core up high (recommended) or down low, charge pipe flowing over the turbo or counterclockwise flow, etc...

Blah, what is the deal. I searched and found everyone saying the same things which was pretty much nothing but there is no diffence or there is a difference but nothing solid to back it up.

After deliberation and searching for both, it is wiser to go fmic.

I am looking for something that will allow me to keep the foglights and the bumper support. I want the pipes to the core up high.
I am assuming over the turbo would lead to a heat soaked charge pipe. Counterclock wise would be better?
Still searching. On a brighter note, found a dual gauge bezel cluster for the 07.

A properly spec'd TMIC will work just as good as a FMIC. You just need a TMIC that can flow the same cfm (or more) than what your turbo does. That is what usually brings up your first issue. If the TMIC can't keep up with the volume of air you are moving, it will heat up. FMIC are generally so large, that you will rarely run into a time when they are too small.
