I have been bidding on a few Accessport's on ebay and was wondering at about what price i should stop bidding on them, on average how much would one for an 02 wrx sell for on this forum lets say?
400-550 is common. it should come with software, instruction manuals, pc inferface cable, power adapter, dataport cable, and 2002 initialization connector. Make sure you ask if the AP has been unmarried from the previous car.
Yeah i remember when i was looking for one about a year ago i was amazed at how they retain value. I'd say if you can get it for 475 or less you're getting a good deal.
AP value i finally just gave in bought new a couple of years ago. Most people that own them use them just twice, once to install, once to un-marry. Maybe a third time if you upgrade your mods from a stage 1-stage 2, so there really is very little wear and tear if any on most of them. On my AP, I installed the stage 2 map, put everything carefully back in the box and set it in the closet, where it still sits from 2 yrs ago!
but they will. give it a few years and your AP will be a paper weight. open source tuning is the future.
So would you guys recommend that once I get my AP stage II map loaded into my car then I should just sell the AP on ebay and get most of my money back??? Seems like that would be a great idea. Just as long as the AP isnt married to the car...
You can't just flash the cobb map to your car and sell the ap after that. Well, you can, but the buyer is going to be pissed cuz it is still married to your car. At that point in time someone will need to cough up the $400 to fix the ap, you you will need to un-marry it from your car thus loosing your cobb map. So basically you can't just flash your car and sell the ap (unless you want to piss off the buyer). Russ
ok so your saying that you cannot load a map without marrying it, i see these used unmarried APs on ebay a bunch.
Think about it for a minute -- if Cobb allowed this, they would sell like 50 units. Super group buy, lol.
