I am kinda curious what you could do in a build to specifically go for low end toruqe. I want all mods to be based of the open deck NA 2.2l (ej22e), so simplicities sake. are some mods better for building TQ then others? also waht would bumping up the comp. ratio do to the TQ?

You could help it breath better, since torque is directly related to volumetric efficiency. But there's always a catch. One thing like cams won't do a whole lot by itself, but when you put it together with an intake, headers, high compression, and some tuning, you see greater gains from each component as it is in a system. You could go and spend $600 on custom high compression pistons for your EJ22E, but you'd need some way to control fuel since you'll have to run premium and take account for that. Its hard to see the gains from said component when the rest of the system isn't optimized to utilize it's qualities.

I don't know if you saw this thread, http://www.bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=26304, but a fun setup can be had for resonable green. Over 120 lb-ft from 2-6k rpm, to the wheels.

extremly high compression, reground cams, w/ ported 1.8 heads, very torquey i plan on frankenmotoring my old motor once my 22T is in...probably swapping it into my bros legacy.
