Greetings! Just popping in to let you guys know about an event that Find The Line Motorsports is hosting in the upper midwest It's going to be a high performance driving event at Mid-America Motorplex in Pacific Junction, IA. MAM is a 2.23 mile long racing circuit, a 40 foot wide polymer surface, with 15 turns of increasing radiuses, decreasing radiuses, long straights, ample passing zones, challenging switchbacks, and a flat out kink. The lack of walls and the massive run offs make this an extraordinarily safe track. We run a really relaxed event with various run groups depending on your speed. If you're new to high performance driving professional instruction can be made available to you for a very reasonable price. New and experienced drivers alike can expect to get as much run time as you can handle. We've had drivers report getting as many as 210 TRACK miles, that's 94 laps! This is a great opportunity to get gobs and gobs of track time and put those mods to the test! You can find the club here: http://www.findtheline.com You can find the itinerary for the event here: http://www.findtheline.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=140&PN=1 Mid-America Motorplex's website here: http://www.midamericamotorplex.com/ Satellite view of the track: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Pacif...37,-95.820608&spn=0.021114,0.030770&t=k&hl=en Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] with your questions or comments.
Wrong weekend....(SCCA and MAC AutoX events on Sat and Sun) Maybe next year, when I have the budget to get there and back.
I can't pass it up...I think I'm going. I have a friend who did it earlier this month and had a blast. I don't expect to be all that competitive in a stock wrx wagon...but it should be a good time. Supposedly there were 20 cars last time split into 2 groups. This means a lot of track time if you want it. Since I'm new to tracking my car, anyone have any tips as far as brake pads are concerned. I need to replace them anyway, so figure this is as good a time as any.
better change them now before you hit the tracks, if your brakes go bad while you're racing....well you wouldn't want that to happen.
At the very least you want to make sure and have a high performance ceramic or carbon metallic pad. You can expect to pay 50$-60$ for a set of front pads. You want to inspect your rotos and make sure they're in good condition also. A damaged rotor can do some neat things when it's super heated. In the event thread you can find a link to our tech sign off form. You can use that to give you an idea of what to look at. If you know anyone else that's into high performance driving having another set of eyes check your car over is never a bad thing. If this is your first time on the track I would highly recommend riding with another experienced driver in a similar car so you know what to expect. Then when you get behind the wheel of your car ask Dam if he can come or if he could recommend someone. If you have any other questions or need further information please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or to leave a post on findtheline.com.
At this point even the staff that's driving has to pay That might change when the club gets bigger and we have more events but for the time being we're still in growth mode.
