I am Curios...WTF is this...

So what is that in the picture for...it looks completely useless to me...and everyone that gets in my car always asks that question what is that and wat is it for....So I thought maybe some one here might know...

Oh yeah..and I am not talking about the rear view mirror...or the light...am talkin about the plastic thing....

 

It is probably to block the sun, so when the sun is in front of you it doesnt blind you when you are looking in the rear view mirror

 

I thought it was for that purpose so I tried it on a sunny day...and it didn't block Sh*t...So if it is for that purpose then it's usless to me...

 

its a visor for the map lights directly in front of it. Blocks those from the Rear View mirror.

It isn't for the sun, and i never found a way in which it could sufficiently block that if even if you tried to.

 

there was an offical SOA press release regarding this thing. if you search for it you can find it.

i belive it is to block lights from behind you, so that they dont reflect off the rear view mirror into your eyes.

 

its not for the map lights because my RS has it and does not have map lights.

It's just a smaller sun visor..can't believe they would release any press about it....

 

Yes, it's a mini sun visor and it only works well for taller folks.

Doesn't work that well as you can clearly see every car back there's headlights! Especially the big f'n semi!:eek3:


I've heard it was for the map lights so they wouldn't affect the automatic tinting of the thing. But, WTF do I know?:biggrin:

That stupid thing only blocks the sun out on leap years.

I hate it, lol.

 

I replaced my windsheild awile back I got one with a visor painted on in that area, it actually works pretty good.
