While I have no specific suggestions for rims, I can say that I am NOT a fan of super low profile tires. I like some sidewall for both practical and aesthetic reasons. So don't go too big.

I also am a big fan of gold rims on black Subarus. Gold might even look better on black than than on WRB. (heresy, I know...)

No hella-flush, no stretch-and-poke, no slammed flat-billed douchemobiles. I don't care what anybody says, that does NOT look good. Especially if you're over 12 years old. So don't lower it too much, keep the width and offset reasonable, and buy tires that fit properly.

The best decision I ever made was buying rims that fit both bolt patterns (5x100, 5x114.3) I bought winter tires for my WRX, then ended up buying an STi like 13 months afterwards. Luckily I made the choice to buy dual bolt pattern, or I would have been out several hundred $$$
I have a black STi, and I think the black on black looks nice. I personally do not like black with a silver lip, just black. I agree with sneefy, keep it classy.

I'm not sure why, but I'm a huge fan of gold on black as well. At least the factory BBS.

And agree with the rest as well.

Ugh. The bolt pattern. I wish I had done that when I got the winter wheels for my crosstrek. Since they won't fit on the 15 outback I traded it for. Now I have some BRZ wheels to unload when I have time to deal with them.

Again as stated before, what is your end game? Just aesthetics? Autocross/track duty? Leaving the stock wheels for winter and need a different set for summer? Reusing your existing tires or upgrading? (goes back to what you are going to use it for) What is the stock size, are you on 17" or 18"?
You will have so many options from width, to diameter, to offset, especially if you are changing to a different tire. Give us a little more info please.

I like the look of gold on black too, but maybe darker bronze sort of color. Rota Grids might be a little overdone now but I still think they look good.

Volk ZE40 would look good too IMHO, but spendy.

Obviously these are just a couple out of a ton of options and the decision has a lot to do with personal taste, but as a few have already stated there are several factors to take into account. Once you figure out what your needs, budget, future mod plans, and aesthetic preferences are it will narrow the options down considerably. NASIOC has an extremely long thread on fitment with a lot of photos if you have time to check it out:

well if you are looking for cheap I know you can get some factory ones cheep 200 ish for a set it would be a nice thing for winter set up but don't know what you are looking for, And as for more high end I have always like Konig for rims there not expensive and have a wide verity and color options.

I just asked for a quote from discount tire vs tire rack for O.Z. Alleggerita HLT rims in orange for my dark grey 17 wrx. Main problem is it will take 60 days to get. 17.6 lbs at 18 x 8.5
