I just bought my first Subaru. And I LOVE it!!!

It need's a little work aside from all the stander stuff of an older used car. It has some minor front end damage. It needs new head lights, grill, front left fender, maybe side markers and I might put a 2.5 hood back on. I'm also going to pull the motor this summer and give it a good once over (head gaskets, timing belt, ect.).

putz and I have already done a few things. Here it sits not even cool from the drive off the lot. New plugs, wires, air filter, and a swiss cheesed air box.

what Did you say your name was?
the intake made a constant low E pitch tone......

I thought it was from drilling many small holes in the air box.... but it didn't stop, it was unbelievable how steady the tone was.

the grill looks great from 15 ft.

    It will look better soon.

he took off the whole lower air box and it still drones on....

I think he wants to try replacing it with a stock intake that has no baffles in it like the early 2.2 had????

Nice looking car! I am a fan of the clear headlights.

I think that any intake work may result in a drone. My 2.2l has made a low pitch droning noise for many years since I put an intake in. If you wait long enough you wont be able to hear those frequencies any more ;-)

Really...CHAPPY! It's already starting to fade to the background.

Thanks all for the warm welcome!

Now I have to wait for a lil warmer weather and make a trip out to east bethel.

BUT...I'm still having a bit of an issue. I keep getting a misfire on 2 and 4. I'm going to try some BP 93. I did fuel filter, plugs, wires, and some seafoam. Any thing else???

oh noes! Here comes gas flaunting!

Try bp or shell and run that gas from that gas station (if you can) consistently. Even though holiday gas is terrible I don't think it effects n/as as much as it does a turbo car.

Either that or your gap is wrong on your plugs. Or worse.. It could be your coilpack

All the gaps in the new plugs where good. I'm gona try the coil pack next, but I thought if it were a coil pack it would be 1-4 or 2-3 that would miss not 2-4.
