I finally came out of the closet...

I've owned VW's since 2000 and have been a die-hard dubber. However, my best friend in high school had a 2.5RS and I've always had a longing for Subies. Going to 15+ rallies in the last 6 years hasn't helped either. So it finally happened, I sold all my remaining VWs, got rid of almost all my VW parts inventory, and got a Sube!

Just thought I'd introduce myself.

we have a nikon user now? uh oh! haha there are a few photo guys here on the forum. im trying to get my photography to be more serious but i just dont get any good opportunities to shoot. im a Canon user as well. no gallary though. but will post as much as i can.

ive shot with my buddies D80 before. how much diff is the d70 from the d80?

 

there are probably more nikon people here than canon people.

I am also part of the D70 massive.

As far as the Nikon vs. Canon debate, I could care less so I'm not taking sides haha. I actually have both. I just like taking pics of cars!

 

same here. i started on canon and now I have expensive L glass so switching isn't practical (although I would love to have the d300)

 

Sure is! I didn't learn the first time around, in the Corrado, so I felt the need to get an A1 with a Grenade as well haha. I only blew up 1 out of 2 chargers...not bad IMHO

 

im not a huge fan of newer vws but the you had a pretty nice lineup of all the sxy old ones!

You should hopefully start seeing my '93 Legacy turbo rally toy in the woods starting this summer. It's not caged or anything, yet, but I need to stop beating on my daily driver. This trip to 100AW should be the last rally for the wagon and I am not planning on anything more strenuous than maybe helping with recce.

Did you make it to S*D or did you get caught in the photography balogney?

I sold the Rado to a 16 yr old kid who not only crashed it the day he got it, but he also did a hit-and-run including property damage with MY plates still on the car! So 5 hours after I sold it, I get a call from the Sheriff asking me 20 questions!

3 months later, he smoked a Ford Expedition, totaling the corrado. He parted it out

Wish I knew you were looking for ride to S*D, I drove out by myself. Serves me right for not posting the right seat was available in the wagon. Ended up at nice quiet marshal points on 2/6 & 9/12. We followed green light out of 6 and holy cow was it icy after two passes, glad I wasn't a racer. Even got sent in to Camp 8 behind 0 to try and solve a rowdy spectator problem but 0 pulled the plug before we got there. Poor spectators were confused when they expected Travis as next car after 0 and got me instead

I'm heading to 100AW either Wed or Thurs., depends on whether Mark needs us to crew or not. If not we'll volunteer but always ready to help out a Subaru brother, even if he does rally that crazy mustang. You can't help but smile when he roars by throwing rooster tails all over the place.
