oh yes it is ill be there everyday during break drooling like a dog you will have to kick me out personally hahahaha
I know AWDL, Bilknutz, driftin240 and subytek. And I know how they treat work nuisances. I give it one visit, maybe two.
Winrar has worked fine for me, I don't compress data very often. And "A TUGZIP IS YOU" sounds nothing like "A WINNAR IS YOU" which is what the image suggests. So Tugzip = fail in this situation.
there is hope for you yet, young grasshopper ;p i am also a big fan of ./configure back in my day we didn't have no funny command that just unpacked and configured for you (i then moved on to gentoo and "emerge" was my fav command)
You may accept him but it doesn't mean AWDL accepts him. AWDL and company still think consoles are a good way to play FPS games....his understanding of linux command line isn't going to help him there.
The funny thing is, those programs that he uses to look up the parts .. are good old fashioned databases, probably running on good old fashioned unix servers
And like most end users, the underlying shell and command lines are transparent to the user interface.
i have done a most evil deed to a macbook pro at the apple store a couple months ago it involved opening up a terminal and typing kill -r / however i had to SU (or suc up to root) their password was ironicly their store number but they since changed that because of me lMAO
The equipment I work on uses underlying UNIX core for it's OS. In error logs during system diagnostics I get "dmaBeefStick" errors. I still have yet to figure out what the hell that is supposed to mean.
There is a quote on the irc channel I've been in for years .. it's about a guy named vlaad "hey .. has anyone ever tried to finger vlaad? It floods you off the server" when readymix saw that the first time, he had no idea about the command, and no idea why i was laughing so hard ... Also, I always felt dirty when dealing with "IPchains"
lemme provide you with the most ridiculously funny flavor of linux ever JESUX http://www.geocities.com/ResearchTriangle/Node/4081/ of course it was eventually proven to be a hoax but just read through it..you will laugh
hey .. use the sudo command next time, most of the time the people running the mac store won't even realize that you can use sudo .. and won't have a password enabled, or it will be the user password (which is probably the store number still!!) , not the SU password .. too funny
No. Wrong. I hate Linux for regular users and think it is asinine usually. I prefer WinXPPro because it does everything I want it to do, doesn't require me to deal with command line, and stays up and running for long periods of time. I haven't had a single required reboot of this computer, or the other 2 I have running on WinXP in forever. If you want to make a proper analogy, I'd say it would be more like you are trying to do your parts catalog on an iphone and I'd think you should use a computer instead.
hahaha i will remember that! hahaha i do it every so often to piss them off ahaha i might develop a script on several of the macs so everytime they log on there are random safari popups of dead animals then when they try to close them 3 of the nearby macs will turn on their voice app saying they like it in the cornhole (iv done this in mac class it was so halarious when my friend signed on he kept getting spammed you are a bitch )
You want some good nerd laughs, go to NewEgg and go to the video card section. Find the gaming cards (you know the ones) and read the comments on them. They usually read like this: "I got this card on my Intel quad core with 4gb of DDR3 ram. I'm going to load Ubuntu on it." Durrr. Why would you build an uber gaming rig and put some Linux distro on it? What's the point? DO you really need all that to run an emulated version of Prince of Persia?
Oh man, that voids the warranty  (better than OSX) ((had to help a dev with making an OSX version of his program, he made it, and then promptly stopped supporting it ... because the OSX kiddies at the time - when it was new - didn't know what their shell was))
But see, that's cool. Ubuntu, and Linux in general are great for small devices or low overhead OS usage. That is what is excels at. But why you would load it as the OS on a some super gaming rig is beyond me
PFF LMAO did you know about the LOTR timeline command on OSX? LOL when you enter it, it gives a verbose version of the LOTR timeline lmao if you are ever near a mac type: cat /usr/share/calendar/calendar.history | grep "LOTR"
Speak for yourself, I couldn't work IT ever again. .. you'll feel the same after about 5 years of dealing with idiots
ahah yes..i know..which is why i will do whatever i can to GTFO of help desk support when im in this company..but i wont always deal with customers..ill also be dealing with configuring computers so ill be AWAY from people
