Chasing rally cars out of the woods.....
It is with heavy heart that I bid this forum farewell. I'm not a subaru owner and might never be (although I did have a Brat given to me many years ago that I flogged the hell out of).

After the last few weeks I don't feel it's really a forum that I can be a part of. I came onto this forum because many of my rallycross friends are on here and since I'm the chairperson for the series I figured it would be good to be more in touch with the rallycrossers on here since the vast majority of our competitors are subaru owners and are on this forum. MNSOC has been very good to us on the rallycross front with sponsorships, charity lunches at the rallycrosses and generally pimping the sport for us. For that I thank you and I don't want this post to change that. You guys are awesome. I've gained many new friends since I have been here. It has been great getting to know most of you on here.

I know this will come across to some of you as me being a whiny pansy and frankly I don't care. I just think that the way some of the forum members on here have been treated lately by certain individuals is utterly disgusting. I can understand some of the frustrations with having to answer questions multiple times. But to openly and unremorsefully degrade and demean members that have alot to contribute and are willing to help (and have helped) anyone in the community simply because they request clarification or offer suggestions to certain actions taken is absolutely appalling. I would expect better out of appointed officials. I just don't feel I can sit idly by and watch as my friends are treated this way. I am on plenty of forums where people are made fun of. But this cuts deeper than that.

Whether or not this makes a difference, I guess I don't know. I know I am not the king or head honcho. I know my role in this is very small so this is not me trying to get sympathy, make myself out to be a martyr or thinking that I am above anyone else. I just don't feel I want to be a member of a forum that has carried on in a fashion that this one has. I know and understand why some of the rules have been put into place (thank you Russ for clarifying them in a decent manner to me and others). But when people start to question these rules and offer suggestions and they are treated like garbage for doing so, I (and many others) take offense to that.

This not directed towards the site owner or the congregation as a whole. There are just certain members in higher ranks that can't seem to filter the insults when they are in an authoritative role. That's something that good leaders are able to do. And I know there will be posts after this one with the "boo-hoo" smilies and "good riddence to bad rubbish", and plenty of other names being hurled in my general direction. I'm pretty sure that this post probably won't make it more than a few hours without being deleted also. That's fine, I don't care. Take this post however you want, I just had to get it off of my chest. And I also wanted to wish everyone of my friends on here good luck in the future. I know I will see them again plenty of times. And I hope this doesn't diminish those friendships. I just don't see any other choice but to step away from this particular forum. Thank you for the time that you have allotted me here.

If anyone has any questions for me for rallycross or in general want to get ahold of me, my email will always be [email protected] .

I say.. delete his account then.. his choice... simple.. next problem!!!

cause personally I am on the other end of this argument... its people like this and others that makes me want out of Subaru's and not building exhaust stuff and helping others with mods etc.... you know.. seeing what I can offer the members and not what I can get out of the forum instead

Well Erik, I am sorry you feel that way. At the same point in time, you also have to realize that it is usually the same few people that like to stir the pot. And their complaints are the same stupid complaints that we have been listening too for the past 6-7-8 years. Some people are not going to be happy until they have full admin access to the site, and even then they will complain that they don't like the color. That is the way it works around here. If it has been quiet for a couple of months, someone needs to stir the pot, then 10 people need to make threads about said pot stirring, then there will be 15 different threads about all the previous people being butthurt about getting points/bannings for said previous threads. The retard flare up is part of the group. It has happened since day one. There really is no way of getting rid of it.

The admin/mod/officer group is small. We are trying to keep everything rolling in a direction. We are in the process of creating MNSOC from the ground up. No outside help, just the officers doing what needs to be done. We are hoping that people would be a bit more patient with us, but I am guessing that would be expecting too much.

Best of luck too you (if you ever come back to read this), and I will see you at the Rallyx.

    Russ

If all the veterans of the "club" leave it will NEVER make it. If you like subarus and want to see this "club" become a full on club I think we need the veterans to stick around and hand out the occasional slap in the face to the newb to keep them on track. That and when people are new, and they f-up, ban them for f's sake, thats why we have that ability.... they will either never come back or they will come back knowing they screwed up!! Either way it will keep the dumbness to a minimum. (fingers crossed)

to the opening poster: you gave it 39 posts, way to give it a try...

erik is a very reasonable guy - i can understand his frustration on this site. There are a few people who seem to have trouble controlling what they say behind the keyboard and then there are just a lot of r-tards on here in general. I've met a lot of cool people from this forum which is the only reason I put up with it.

Erik and Davenport Racing... seriously I hope you guys decide to see it through a little longer, I am sure you both have a lot to offer this site/forum/club, but seriously... this is the internets, it shouldnt be taken seriously unless you know the person is being honest, this site does rattle some cages a little, especially when someone starts a thread like this..

I stand behind what I said earlier.. if you wanna leave then why not just pm a mod and ask to be deleted and leave... or just realize that there is always good and bad... this site tends to rehash and rehash the same crap all the time, so the 'older' members who have seen it over and over have minimal tolerance for it, so they blast.. I am guilty off it obviously...

All in all... if there are jerks at a rally-x are you gonna cry and leave that too??? as clubs/sports/events etc grow you get a influx of things good and bad... deal with it like a man...

I say lock this thread up..... move onto the next thread full of hate against the club ;)

For what, saying what a lot of the people on this site feel?

I think the most frustrating thing around here for the "veterans" vs the new people has been the new site rules regarding the FS forums. When I start seeing people bitch and moan about it, and they've been here for a year plus and only have 10-15 posts then I could care less what that person thinks. In my mind they're not a contributing member of the club, and don't have a voice as to the direction the site goes. If they were to contribute, then their opinions would be far more valued. When someone with 20some posts and a year (or two or three  ) tries to tell the mods and members that something is unfair or that it should be changed because their feelings are hurt, tough hop.

There are plenty of topics to get involved with, as we have a wide range of people on this site. And yes, I'm with Tom and Erik on that one. Once you start bringing a performance car to the point where everyone can afford one, you'll start seeing the mouthbreathers pop out of the woodwork.

Edit: Mike, I'm not directing that at you or Doug Davenport. Doug is a vendor, he's in a different category. I'm referring to the other groundhogs that popped up shortly after this stuff went into effect.

I couldn't agree with you more. And this sucks.

To the OP. Yeah there is some annoying stuff on this site and I don't post a whole lot here because of it. But it can be sifted through. And if you can get past that you'll see that there are some great and knowledgeable people here and that good topics and posts do exist.

I say don't throw in the towel yet

No, it'd just invite the mouthbreathers with more money. I think if you're paying 20k or more for a bugeye you're asking to be the forum "Whack a Tard"*

*Unless it's for a caged, purpose built race car. Then it's completely acceptable, and you likely are not a drooling mouthbreather.

You all have got to be kidding me. Those of you that are "going to leave if things keep going this way" need to grow a pair. There are idiots and retards and all sorts of people you dont want to deal with everywhere...you can't "quit" or hide from it or do anything like that, its life...deal with it or go drink some drain-o and call it a day. Whoa, what a thread and of course, in true MNStupid fashion.

I know a lot of you people don't know Erik because he mostly involved in the SCCA and other organized/sanctioned clubs, but having people like him around can help raise MNSOC and even MNSubaru to a whole new level. (Ya know, something greater than a local waterhole for forum trolls, hand raisers, and pansy ass punks that never do anything besides post crap.)

Don't worry Erik...you don't have to leave. You can easily go into your user options and add people to your ignore list, and then you don't have to waste your time sifting through their useless posts in order to get to the valuable information. In fact, I can send you a list of people that are the top trolls of the forum that really don't do anything besides act like little internet thugs.

I don't personally maintain a list for myself since I'm a mod and have to look through the forum and at every post possible. However, anyone can take a look throughout the forum and should be able to quickly determine who's posting the most useless information on here. :)

LOL. Audit my posts, you'll see that a fair amount of time I'm not just posting useless crap. Unfortunately you won't see the posts in the officer and mod forum where I post the most...but on the public forum I don't go out of my way to simply puke on my keyboard and hit reply like some people do...

Chet...kudos to you...you finally found an avatar that suits you!

The only reason he would come out on "top" is he would once again get butt hurt and use his "ban button" out of self defense to "teach" me a lesson. I have purposely not posted or been a part of this site for a week just to avoid the internet drama that is our forum. I even skipped the MNSOC BBQ (like anyone cares) to avoid all the drama that would ensue after they heard about my car problems and pure misfortune I had the last couple of weeks. Excuse me if I am coming off as a prick but at least I know I am, I love how some people flaunt around here like there **** doesn't stink. More often than not this site feels like high school with all the **** flinging that goes on about one another, and I am not just talking about the internet gossip either ... the **** said behind peoples backs is getting ridiculous.
