I got to take my car through some really nice winding roads today. It was so much fun. It handled great even with 4 people in it. We were out in the chaska/chanhassen area highway 101 and I think old highway 110. I don't remember. It was a good way to burn time while waiting for lunch at the Dunwoody Picnic. Ok I'll stop writing But I had to Brag a little.
OK joegengsta mr. negativity he's just stating that he's fond of his car which handles better than your average honda civic what's the problem with that? And i like your location how'd you get there with your NOZZZ while you were skreet racing?
joewanksta just can't handle his STi.... and he's infront of dream because he's about to get lapped by dream. anyhow, glad you liked it.....i corner my RS on a daily basis when i get the chance to. they are very fun and if you know how to handle them, there's little to no understeer at all.
LOL. I read this and didnt get untill I saw Joe's location.   Im a big dawg now, everybody wants a piece of me, time to put people in the crock pot and let them SIMMER
I'm going to have to agree with the handling part. Not that I'm defending his location at all. My '01 Lude is 350 lbs lighter than my '04 STI and with a double wishbone suspension it's quite a different story than the STI. So now it's time to hijack this thread... I've got got Tein Flex coil overs, Perrin rear sway bar with end links, front and rear strut tower bars and H-brace. What else should I get? I was thinking ALK and fender braces. Are those other front under braces worth the money?
good suspensions really aren't much when the car you are against has good performance and well, 450+ AWHP(dream's gt35R STi)..... with any decent straights or even a little spot to pull away, it will pwned you to the moon.
rofl. And joe, somehow I was able to make a GD 2.5RS with an open rear diff oversteer like crazy whenever i wanted it to. Same thing on my open rear diff GC wrx. Must be something about actually knowing what you're doing when you're setting up a car. I hear CF rear splitters and takata harnesses and hood struts make it handle like its on rails though  I have jumped in bone stock STi's and been able to flip that tail around just about anything. ITS ALMOST HARDER TO UNDERSTEER IT THAN OVERSTEER IT, the thing has more throttle on oversteer than any other AWD car i've ever driven. Unless you're taking a video game banzai Grand Theft Auto line that is... 'It's the poor mechanic who blames his tools'
^^ hahahaha, you win. we'll take our cars around a corner and sees who understeers first into a gaurdrail or massively oversteers to a horrid spin face it.. the sti and ever worse your wrx and your 2.5 rs.. understeers.. if u haven't noticed the understeer... then you're not pushing your car hard enough around the twisites... it's fact. sti's understeer.. and then violenty oversteers... tisk tisk but!!! with a few mods like... bigger sway bars, fully adjustable coilovers, great tires (very important!!!), and some little things here and there, the sti will be a track monster
can't... stop... laughing... You know what, you're right. I probably don't push my car around corners on the street nearly as hard as you do. Of course not on the street I've probably done things that would make you crap your pants. I don't like tickets, and I've got a mortgage, 4 cars, 2 bikes and I paid for all of them, so I try to keep it a bit more responsible. If i'm not noticing the understeer it's because a) I set up my suspension correctly and spent a lot of time doing so b) I dont corner like I learned to drive by playing video games. yeah i've NEVER driven an STi before. and certainly not at an off road race event  omg! thanks for letting me know, I had no idea... Its good to see you still know how to find the fun parts of life with your car as they come. I enjoy every chance I get to take a little spin now and again on a nice day.
Well, considering I don't race my STI vs. my Prelude it doesn't matter to me in that respect. I'm really wondering what's the next best step to improve my handling on my STI. Answering that the STI is faster is like me coming back and saying my Lude looks better than my Subie. It's not relevant. I just want a better handling STI and would like to know what's the best bang for the buck after the given mods I have. P.S. If I wanted 450+ HP so I could kill in the straights I would have just bought a Mustang Cobra and modded the crap out of it. I have the STI for AWD and 4 doors and suspension combinations all in 1 car.
