I know some of you aren't in to this but thouse of you who are will think it's cool. I got accepted as a member of the Wrong Fitment Crew! #715 (the area code for wisconsin. I'm not the 715 member.) As far as I know I'm the only one in Wisconsin so far. I think it's kind a cool cuz I put alot of time and $ into my car to get it this way. So thouse of you who dont like the "look" please keep your negative comments to your self. Thanks! Heres the link. http://www.wrongfitmentcrew.com/mem...al-member-s-thread-no-pics-no-post-t17-90.htm
Thank you! Nice to see that some people like it. Just a little on big bumps. If I run some more -camber I could stop it from rubbing. I think I'm going to just go with 235/40 tires next time then it wont rub on me.
They fit just fine on my car:biggrin: Like I said...some people like it some dont...some like big lifted trucks...some dont...every ones got there own thing!
I like the look alot, how does it affect the ride? harsh and bumpy, but what about rubbing? hard cornering? does it tend to pull to the right or left more? It must handle like a go cart a little with minimum travel in the suspension? I really like look of this car too!
YES! THIS! i love the look if it is pulled off right but some of the people get wayyy too obsessed with it
It rides rough but it's not any rougher then it did when I had my winter wheels on. (witch are 06-07 wrx stocker) It rubs a little on big bumps and if I corner to hard. I'm going to be getting some sway bars and bushing and I'm also thinking about running some 235/40 and getting rid of the 245/40. That would stop all my rubbing problems. On problem with the car pull right or left. The only time I haved to deal with the travel is in and out of my driveway(and I just try to avoid potholes in the road) and I just take it slow so I dont bottom out. But thats the case with any car thats lowerd and at stock ride hight.
helra frush haha looks good josh! im stickin with my 17x7.5,, might get a little wider tire to compesate for the power haha
I'm not going to lie. You guys are right. Some people get way to carryed away with it and then it just starts to get stupid like the pic I will post up here. But my car is far from that! I didn't see any of you guys having a problem with it when Ken Block put um what was it agian??? 18x10.5 on his car??? Like I said before if your going to juat sit here and knock it say out the thread. Thanks. One thats is way over done.
10.5" width with what, 275's? 285's? Last I checked, 245 works on 7.5/8.0, and fits in the wheel wells, and handles better without being stretched out another 2". But, to each his own I guess.
I got no beef with the guys running 10" wheels with 275 series rubber on them as long as they're IN the wheel well. Yours is quite tasteful as well, albeit the fenders could use a LITTLE pull in the rear. Now the VW guys with the 10.5" and the 0 offset with 215 rubber and 7 degrees of camber...... Those guys make me SICK.
2"? Not sure were you got that from but ok. And they do fit in the wheel wells. Dont look like no "2inch" stretch to me but maby me eyes are bad:laugh: It will handle just fine as soon as I get my sway bars in:biggrin:
That is the dumbest thing I have ever seen. I propose mandatory sterilization for the owner so they can't pass on whatever strain of retard they're currently harboring.
Completely off topic but what the hell is with amateur photog's putting some official sounding watermark on the corners of pics? You dont have a photography company you are just some kid with a dslr. Get over yourself. Oh and the above pic is ridiculous and the bottom right of the picture is what set off my rant. Sorry .
I'm not sure I'd want my name associated with that half baked abortion in any way, shape or form. Even if the photographer didn't own that car, good taste should dictate that he should've set it on fire during the shoot.
Nothing wrong with nonflushed rims. I like em big and with some girth. Lol u mad because Subaru makes crappy wheel bearings so you won't dare put wider rims on.
I run 18x8's and couldn't fathom going any bigger unless I was running a lot of HP and needed the extra rubber on the ground. I really dont think the issue at hand is the quality of Subaru's wheel bearings.
Meh. To each their own. I like my cars being able to handle and accelerate over looking good. That's just me though.
I've been down the road with lots of hp. It was a big headace for me and I ended up just selling the car. I'm also on my 3rd motor in this car and don't feel like throughing a bunch of hp at it so it can just blow up on me. I have a VF39, 06 WRX inj., STi topmout, and a uppipe that are going on and that will be all the power I need. I want it to look nice rather then be balls out fast. It's a WRX not a STi...
Nobody complained when Ken Block put 10.5" wide wheels on his car because Ken Block needed 10.5" wheels to put more tire on his car. He did it so the car would perform, and his performance needs required tires that were wider than an 8" wide wheel could accommodate. 10.5" wheel with 275+ tires = reasonable, 235 tires = unacceptable. I've been hanging out in the car scene for a few years and one of the best things I've learned is how to differentiate between style and stupid. IMO if you're gonna run 10" wide wheels and stretch some 235s over them, they had better be baller wheels. I can't see the side of that stupid Lexus above, but I can guarantee you he didn't do that to some knockoff cast wheels that are 750 a set. Because in the end, you're stretching tire so that you can tell everyone that you're running super wide wheels and they are flush. Since you obviously don't care about performance, you are doing it for 'style points' or something, so if it is all about style, your wheels had better be stylin' too.
Even though I'm not going to be having 500whp I am planning on autoXing it now and then so it will not be for just "looks". And there 245/40s not 235/40s... and even though there not works they cost alot to me seeing as how I don't make that much. So yes I'm going to take pride in them and show them off cuz I saved up for a long time to get them...
If you're planning on autoxing with that setup you've shot yourself in the foot. The negligible increase in contact patch you picked up with the 245s is going to be negated by the increased unsprung weight of the wheels and tires, not to mention the reduced suspension travel is going to hurt your times more than help them.
