Spec stage 3 would be overkill...Stage 2 is fine. They measure by torque Stage 2 is 470lbs tq. Which is what I have...The pedal feel is stiff, just FYI. Stage 1 would also work with your setup and feel more like stock...That's if your only planning on pushing 300whp and about 300tq. Anything over 400tq I would go stage 2.
It should still be fine with stage 1...I actually regret getting my stage 2 and I'm only @ 260whp and 240 tq. on my VF34, but I'm getting retuned so I hope to post better numbers. But still the stage 1 is more than adequate with 16g. as close to stock pedal feel from spec. But also I'm planning on upgrading in the next year to 350-400whp and about 400tq. So my stage 2 will be good enough.
Sorry Speed, they closed down...Propulshun in st. paul...Plus they raised the price compared to when I bought mine. Try WRXfanatics.com and check out the vendors there...Also another suggestion is getting a lightened Flywheel since your replacing your clutch.
Yeah i have a spec stage 3 on my mustang which puts out 400/400 roughly nice clutch though imust say i got it with their aluminum flywheel pretty nice set up good quality.
Are you looking for a Stiffer pedal feel or as stock as possible? I would either go with stage 1 at most a stage 2 w/ACT streetlites Flywheel 13.9lbs. Similiar to my Setup, just my recommendation.
If your talking about the Flywheel, the stock would be best for longevity and durability, but it weighs a Ton (27lbs. roughly). Because of the weight and thickness, it can take more abuse, but will take a while to rotate the Mass of the Flywheel because of the weight, So your RPMs won't REV as quick compared to a lightened Flywheel. I wouldn't worry about the Flywheel (stock) to die on you. After you replace the Clutch, I'd be more worried about your Gears going out on you. That is why I'm getting my PPG Gear Set from AndrewTech. Please correct me if I'm wrong...No offense taken
http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/pri...hes-Flywheels/Clutch_Kits/part/Import_Stage_2 Which one do i order The 2.5l one? There is no 2.0l one that i see???
http://www.speedaction.net/su002-twoa1306.html Cheapest I found so far $422 inlcudes shipping for Stage 2 01-04 WRX Part# SU002
Man...I remember when I only paid $325 for mine...But that was before Spec got real popular (1+ yr ago)...Now there are almost the same price for a ACT or Exedy. *Yikes* ...So Speed you got RA gears installed already too?
That's because your searching under "impreza". Try using the "WRX" search PS: Ide get the stage 1, its rated to hold 410 ft lbs. http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/pri...hes-Flywheels/Clutch_Kits/part/Import_Stage_1
Just so you guys know we have a special on all Exedy clutchs for the month of April. Just got in the triple ceramic (stage 5) for STi today :eek4: Good to 915 ft. lbs. First one in the US. Can't wait for the customer to drop the car off. PM for pricing. Most clutches to your door in 2 days.
Triple Ceramic??? Holy cow! 915 Ft. lbs? Can an Sti even hit those #'s...I guess if you do an H-6 swap turbocharged. But that's insane...
THis is the same clutch we will be using for projectsti. We are hoping for somewhere in the 800-850 flywheel torque, not quite 915........ But it is nice to over kill the clutch. I really don't like taking the trani on and off for fun. the customers STi is only running 450 ft. lbs. He auto crosses and drag races. His clutches take hella abuse. We wanted something that would stand up to it. Not a bad clutch for $3800 Retail:eek3:........ the break down on the Stage 5 clutch is: Solid unsprung ceramic disks, 2205 lb pressure plate Rated at: Road Race 915 ft. lbs. Flywheel Drag race 720 ft. lbs Flywheel Road Race 824 ft. lbs. Wheel Drag Race 657 ft. lbs. Wheel
Rich should be around those numbers once his STi is done not 915 but im sure thats the clutch he would need
The twin disk is nice. We have been putting that clutch in the Evo's like crazy...... Rich did you end up getting the SD or the HD? We keep having to special order all the HD's.. For some reason Japan doesn't think that we need the HD.
