I just got my car back from the shop. Replaced both side axle and ball joint. Total came to $580 with labor. Everytime I get my car back, something always goes wrong. I wish I have the tools and time to do it myself but I'm always busy. Any shop you guys recommend?

On that note, I cue the multiple suggestions for NF Performance ;)

I actually recommend RS motors. Or Ben and Brian P at Morries MTKA.

RS Motors is backed up for the next 5 weeks atleast according to facebook.

I would go with Nuke and NF Performance for any needs you need and a quick turn around and A+ Customer Service

When you come over, I can look over the car and give you an idea what's next to come or things you should keep an eye on. assuming that is your in your avatar, the car is getting old. I have a '99 and could tell you all about our first gen Imprezas. It'll probably make you want to buy a newer car. Lol

You don't have to switch mechanics. Chase them down. They're only in Cottage Grove!

    Where are you located?

    In no particular order...

1.)(far west metro)David Wray's shop is in Buffalo, so it's a bit of a haul. But he has something like 30-35 years experience with Subarus and is a GREAT guy.

2.)(south metro)RS Motors is in Burnsville off of 13 and just west of 35w. Matt and Ronnie know their stuff with Subarus and can take care of ANY issue NP.

3.)(dead center of the metro)NF i believe is around St. Paul and can hook you up also! They obviously SPECIALIZE in Subarus.:)

4.)(far east metro, lol)Subaru Surgeons. I've heard a ton of good reviews about these guys!

5.)(central/west metro)Morries Minnetonka. Brian P. and Ben P. are awesome Subie Techs and are VERY knowledgeable! Ask for one of them specifically!

6.)(north/northeast metro)Devoted Auto. I've heard quite a few good reviews on them also! I believe their location is White Bear.

That covers north/east/south/west...you should be able to find someone in there that works for you!:D

I would guess it would be best to just call them. If I recall its plugs and Trans Flush, may be cheaper to do at home with a MT. Dealers want too much for both IMO.

60k includes a coolant flush too. I understand the 05-09 Legacys have their heater core higher than the radiator cap, so burping the system takes a little extra effort. (I fully admit that I could be wrong on that point)

I drive an 04 wrx and had my 60K done at Morrie's a couple years ago. It was about $6-700 I believe. Only reason I took it there was because I couldn't get anyone here to do it for me ATM and I didn't have time to do it all.

You tell them you do your own oil changes and they will knock off $20 or so from the charge. I know, it isn't much, but that's what I told them when I did mine.

Metric Auto Works in Woodbury is a great place. I took my VW there when I had it, but the owner drives a highly modified Evo, and knows all about Subies as well. His name is Chris and I trust him for any repairs.
