    wrong :)

I've seen ONE in person, INCLUDING the USMB meets I've been to. it was in someones garage off 169 near mille lacs. I damn near started a pile-up when I slammed on the brakes to pull in there. it was in awesome condition, white (of course....). I doubt it gets driven much. I knocked on the door of the house, but I don't think anyone was home.

    like martin said. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/

There are some good guys out in the PNW that could probably help you track one down and get it over here.

check out www.Suberdave.com for project RX-RA (yes, it has a Type-RA EJ20G in it, complete with 5 injectors and gold valve covers!).

Ahem.... I pulled the LSD R160 out of an RX turbo and installed it in my Datsun 510.

I agree, check out the pacific north west, I have seen 3 in junk yards there during my 5yrs in Tacoma.

what more help do you want? I don't see a new post by you in the USMB wanted section.

you will NOT find an RX in even remotely decent condition in the midwest.

factory RX coupe kit. same one I have on my wagon. mine cost a bit over $300 shipped. of course, I got hella lucky on that, if you can find one, they usually go for about that without shipping! but I can think of 2 somewhat recent threads looking for one, without any luck in months.

the hood is custom. some aftermarket (or....look kinda like factory 240Z) vents and either imitation, or modified WRX scoop, mounted on factory hood.

I have that same tranny/rear diff combo.....cost me $300 plus shipping from PA.

wheels are worth a few hundred depending on condition.

of course, you'll have to start looking for XT6 parts to swap to 5-lug to have the suspension and brakes to back up a turbo EJ swap.

there's also this one. not a genuine RX. but a coupe with front air dam, rear spoiler, turbo, FT4WD. if you're swapping the engine and/or transmission

here's the original for sale thread:
    http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=79151

which, I just realized, dan said it doesn't have a FT4WD trans in it. so unless the new owner swapped it out, it's just part-time 4WD. but if you're planning to swap to a 22t, you might as well put an EJ trans in there too.

    ;)

unless the current owner changed anything, it already has the XT6 20mm front and rear sway bars. and RX springs. short of 5-lug swap (which I would highly recommend), it's pretty well maxed out.

oh, and the right mod, is to put that motor on a chain at the bottom of a lake somewhere and put a real motor in there.

now you're talking about EA82 modding....which means it's time to do your homework.

    my setup: http://www.numbchuxconversions.com/frankenwagon.htm
    5-lug swap: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=50400
how to run almost any aftermarket suspension with 5-lug: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=78684
    Legacy coilovers: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=65917

if you're staying 4-lug.....GR2s. only thing even remotely stiffer than stock. get them for an XT for that ride height, or for any other 4WD EA82 for the stock monster-truck height.

    Well

There maybe a nice 85 FWD XT Turbo EA82 car with a 5speed coming up for sale. I'm getting pissed at Subarus. I wont let the 86 AWD go yet because I have a extra small block chev motor sitting here that needs a car and I'm curious how long it will last as a RWD XT. If you want to see pictures do a search and you will find them. The 85 does not have the scoop and wing. Both cars are clean with new timing belts, clutches, brakes, tires, idler pulleys and tensioners. Both cars have head gasket issues or?

I'm trying to fix the 86 awd one more time and then it will become a project car. If your interested in the 85 let me know and you can come see it.
