Agreed. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to check the part numbers for a corresponding black trim. Thanks for the pics. It bodes well for the new STi sedan
I want the front and rear bumper for the new STI on my 08 sooooo bad. I guess it's a good thing that I need to replace both...
The one thing I didn't look at was the brake calipers... Did they go back to 4pots or stay with the 08-10 WRX brakes? The new rims are nice. The 4 tip exhaust is not my favorite. The new black strip on top of the grill is ok, I like the old color (dark broze-ish) better. Same interior. Nothing changed that I could see. Other than the sweet new bumper on front and the wide fenders, the rear bumper falls short a bit IMO. I think they sharpened too many edges/corners after taking all that time and trouble to round it out. Still no tinted brow on the windsheild... fail. Still the chrome strip on the trunk... fail. Still no rear wiper... fail. Otherwise, an over-all nice car. I'd rock it. Needs wider rims/tires to go with that wide stance. Needs factory option lowering springs. Missing the two-tone on the rear bumper. Can't wait to see if they change the SPT exhaust to be 4 tips or not.
I wonder if price is going to go up for this 2011 WRX? I sure would like to get 2011 wagon to my garage if price stays the same
Apparently, the 2011 got 17x8 rims. The rear chrome piece on the trunk isn't chrome anymore, it's matte silver. Same old 08-10 brakes, but it did get Bilstein struts.
wow.... Thats really lame... one thing i always loved about subaru is that you could put sti parts onto a wrx. no more legos.
Seems like that was the case before. Hubs different, rotors different, lateral links different, different brake calipers, different steering rack etc.
i thought that all went away when they switched the STi to the 5x114 hubs. you could still swap all that stuff but you have to swap ALL of it.
Using STi parts has always been a game of finding out which combination of parts will work. Nothing new here. The chrome strip at the top of the door looks fine. Subaru has been doing that for a long time. Just not recently.
