so im sorry for making this my 3rd post about my freaking tranny but here is my problem. all is well everything is back together with a rebuilt tranny and my car runs great. i just have one major issue. i cant get my shifter into any gear. i can feel where 1st, 3rd, and 5th are, but nothing on the bottom. and it wont engage in any of them. so im now at a loss for what to do. could it be shift linkage? or what? any help would be greatly appreciated
phone call to them and have them tow it back to their shop and fix it... my car did that once when I snapped 2nd gear real quick out of a car wahs... I couldnt get it in or out of wherever it was in the sequence.... I let the car sit for 2 hours then went and reefed on the stick... nothing so while pulling on it I tried to start teh car and BANG... I mean BANG it came out of wherever it was stuck... never had an issue since?!?!?!
That sounds like my RS after bloomington subaru put my exedy clutch in. I couldn't get the shifter to go into most of my gears after a couple days because the shift linkage was not put back together properly. It held for a little while then after a few days would only go into 2nd and 4th gear. That is an ez fix that the rebuild shop should pay for. Hopefully thats all your problem is. Best of luck!!
i took the tranny out, brought just the tranny itself to be rebuilt. i reinstalled everything with a few friends. i have a feeling it is in the shift linkage and i wasnt the one who took it apart. does anyone know where i could find a detailed diagram of how that whole assembly works and goes back together. ive talked to the guys that rebuilt the tranny and they put it on a dyno and went through all the gears. so it apparently is something i messed up myself. thank you guys for your help
Sounds like the linkage is upside down. IIRC the tranny will need to come out to fix it. You live in Hudson and you took you tranny to Canon Falls? Has this place done subaru tranny's before? You should have posted here there are a few of us who could have done it correctly.
