Alright, i have an 05 Sti with a MAP 20g, process west top mount, invidia tbe, grimmspeed ewg up pipe and other supporting mods running on e85 at 421whp @26psi. I haven't had a single issue with the car until last night... drove the car all day with no issues and nothing out of the ordinary, didn't even really beat on it to much stopped at home for a few mins with the car running in the driveway then go to leave and the car feels very boggy and i noticed the CEL was flashing so i pulled over and shut the car off for a couple of minutes started it again and same thing so i limped it a couple blocks home got out of the car and smelled the exhaust and it was smoking pretty bad and smelled like oil bad. I haven't had a chance to do a compression test yet but i'm assuming a piston let go?? The car isn't making any strange noises or anything just missing horribly and smoking pretty bad.
Pull the oil filler cap while its idling. If there's smoke coming out of there then good chance its a piston. Check the cel and report back.
Did that and didnt notice any smoke coming from the filler area. Gonna check the code, do a compression test and pull the downpipe off and see how the turbo seals are doing next weekend.
Alright so i just got done with the compression test and all 4 cylinders came out at 120psi thank god! So now im gonna throw some new plugs in it tomorrow and get the coils back on and check the CEL and see which cylinder is missing and go from there.
Well i put new plugs in and im getting spark on all the coils but its still running like total sh*t. Finally got my hands on a scanner and came up with P0113 (Intake air temp circuit high input)... that was the only code that came up.
Well i tried cleaning the maf fr the hell of it and that didnt help anything... i searched and found a guy having a similar problem that said if he blows on his air filter that the car dies so i tried that for the hell of it and sure enough as soon as i blew on the filter the car died.
