i want to destroy my RS!

ok so friday the 13th hit me.....i was removing the rear engine seal where the flywheel bolts onto...as i was removing the gasket, the plyer slipped and my hand flew right into the sharp edge, now i have one ugly .5inch cut on my left middle finger.....no biggie, as i was installing the gasket....it was such a pita.....when i finally got it in, it was kinda slightly angle so i thought i'd hit the oppisite end to straigthen it out, while doing that i kinda hit too strong and the stupid gasket went all the way in....now it's in too deep.....was a pita to remove and now the gasket is damaged too......F*ckin A!!!!! there goes my plans for finishing it up today.....

 

there are always problems working on cars. no matter what you do they always pop up. sorry to hear you lost the gasket. are you putting the heads on with the motor in the car? cuase it would be way easier and safer with the motor out. those head bolts are really hard to get in there when taking off/putting on the head.

 

the complete motor is actually out of the car. manifold and heads are ported and ready to go.....that gasket was the last piece and i screwed up.....could've fired her up tonight....=(

 

Stop posting on the board and go fix it!

good call, I've learned 2 things about working on cars

1) never work while angry/frustrated, it only makes it worse

2) never try to do anything on Friday the 13th (after our attempt to rescue my siezed Chuxwagon from Rich's place last winter, and the tow vehicle had a wheel bearing turn to scrap metal)

 

luey if you need a hand give me a ringo..in return you can help me with my GT40 & motor upgrades....

 

actually herc, yes i do need a hand, be a good friend and go buy me a new rear main seal for my car please. your treat!

 

How's it looking right now, Lue? At least you're almost done and with Herc buying you a new rear main seal, you should be set in a couple weeks (Herc's known to be a slow mechanic).

as of right now, all i need is to get a new gasket and install it! then my car is set!

 

well..it should've been dont long time ago....but its ok...at least your almost done now...welll well..let see...hmmm...o yea...i'll bring over the clutch disc if you still need it today...so..i'll give you a call after when im done with court....
