One of my first laps on the 'road course' today at lake cynthia. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-9107001243486846892 new video showing braking, skid pad, slalom, oval track and a different lap on the road course. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6237188060656492333 I'll try to put together a video with shots from the skidpad, slalom, brake excersize and oval tracks, but they're not really that exciting, so I have to edit it into shorter clips. Here are some pics from from other people from the 27th. (pics by Matt from http://www.neuwerks.com/newsite/) more image galleries, (a few other subies in there) http://gallery.andersonmotorsport.com/Lake-Cynthia-January-27-2008 http://gallery.andersonmotorsport.com/album03 More pics from the event on the 27th http://picasaweb.google.com/dadolphson/GLQCIceRacing2008 and a video http://youtube.com/watch?v=K1DUR8rgdAI I think there some more videos on youtube as well, search for GLQC or "Lake Cynthia"
Oh there were a few Audis that were going damn fast too. I think a lot people just have nice cars and don't want to break anything. There were some evos there today kickin' ass and breakin' plastic. They were fun to watch. I can't wait to see the times from today. I think my later runs got a bit faster, there were a few corners I was able to carry more speed through.
The schedule just isn't working out too well. I might be able to stop in for the afternoon on sat and help out with timing, etc. But I'm not sure yet.
times from feb 10th. (although, I thought he said my last run wasn't being timed, so I think that killed my average... ). http://www.glacierlakesqclub.org/IceTrialTimes_0210.htm times from jan 27th http://www.glacierlakesqclub.org/IceTrialTimes_0127.htm
Not locally, the audi club has one up on Gull Lake March 1st and 2nd. (more info http://www.glacierlakesqclub.org/) But then RichWRX is hosting a similar event up in Orr the same weekend that a bunch of people here are going to, http://mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21758
Orr is about 4 hours north of here. (map) There's more info in this thread. You'll have to check with Rich quickly since I'm not sure how much space is left. The subaru event is pretty informal and open, you get tons of driving and usually there a few hours of timed laps one day. The audi event is much more structured and would be the better event if you want something more like a car control clinic.
i dont care about structure at all i just wanna have fun! ill check it out and maybe ill join in, if i can get the weekend off
Yes. There was a ford focus there for one, and a nissan on sunday I think. But fwd can actually do pretty good with decent tires and smooth driving.
Nice pic. Yeah, the 2nd one was great, the weather was just perfect. I guess the one you were at was pretty cold too, right? Sunday was cold, the only good thing was it was a lot less crowded. The skid pad was pretty good too once the snow got worn off, it was very consistent all the way around. But there's a big difference in doing the skid pad in 35 deg weather vs -10.
haha.. well, you could probably get down onto the lake, but I don't think you would have gotten back off, the little access road is pretty steep.
Ok, last video, this one shows the different excersizes they had setup, braking, skid pad, slalom, oval track and road course. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6237188060656492333
