Ice Race > 4EAT

Well those of youa t the ice race know already... so i will inform those who did not make it. while at the ice race, i toasted the 4EAT in my car. it was thursday afternoon around 3 ish. went from reverse to drive, kinda quickly, nothing that was supper strenous on the tranny. and next thing i know i have no nuetral, park or reverse!

so i needed to park where i would not need to back up to get out the whole weekend. which was pretty annoying. i tried some stuff like re-adjusting the linkage, and runing it through the gears to no avail. i ran it a few times aftert his happened. butnot like i would have.

thank fully 95LWRX had a few extra auto laying around and hooked me up (thanks agian) so i picked that up and the drive home and am going to be starting in on the swao tommorow. car made it back to home with no problems (yay). lets see how the swap goes. anyone have any pointers for dropping an auto?

wow martin? sorry about the tranny, same thing happened to me on New years day. my tranny was toasted, only 1st gear worked. anyways, good luck on the swap.

wish i could do the six speed. but replacing the auto is the cheapest option for me right now.

i am diving in on this tommorow at my place. i dont think i will need too much help, my dad will be around to help incase i need some. however if you want you can swing by i should be in teh garage after 12:00.

Build the auto....had mine built to handle 500+ whp for under 2000 @ Aamco in Fargo....had to bring them a parts list to get to that point of course

 

well this is day 3 of the trany, and what a disaster. it seemed like everything was going alright. with a few minor set backs. i get the tranny back into the car and get EVERYTHING bolted back up. start adding some fluid. go to start the thing to check my levels. and it wont crank over! i cant even turn the damn thing over by hand (3' breaker bar on the crank). so i am thinking that either the TQ converter isnt seated all the way or the one i am using (came form the old tranny) is toast. so now i need to drop the tranny again... try to make this other TC work. and put it all back together again...

if anyone wants to help let me know. i will be prolly working on this for the rest of the week :-(. if this doesnt fix it i am putting a f-in 5spd in.
