Is anyone interested in coming up for newYears? Looks like Car(ZipTieRally) will be coming up to test his car over new years. So if anyone else wants to come up that cant make it to the ice race, or come to both. since I wont have to plow a course, serve food etc I could do $40 a night. let me know if your interested.
yep, should be a good time! we need to do a test and tune on the rally car prior to sno-drift. I have sway bar settings, straightline braking, center diff mapping and tire pressure to dial in before sno*drift. I'm hoping we'll also have boomer bring the ice race car up to shakedown prior to the start of the IIRA season
I will check the ice tomorrow but im guessing there wont be a issue with thickness, we still have 2 weeks and they are starting to drive on the other side of the lake.
Tempting. I might be able to drive up. I will have to see 1.) if my car is driveable 2.) what my new years plans are. Assuming both are a go I would be up late Friday. Might be interesting/fun to test the new parts out.

Im off for a week so I will be out there checking the ice, hopefully we have around 11 inches. Looks like the storm is going to get us now and I need atleast that before I will drive the truck out to plow . Fishing has been alittle slow, you can allways catch some northerns.
sure! im going out in a few minuites to check the ice. I will let you know the thickness, hopefully it 11+ inches. All this snow were supposed to get might make it slushy,but we only got a dusting so far so maybe it wont hit us too hard.
11 inches of ice, still not enought to take the 3/4 ton plow out. We only got a inch of snow today, hopefully we dont get the 18+ they are predicting for tonight and tomorrow.
I am amazed that you only have an inch so far out on the lake. We already have over 8 and it sounds like Duluth is getting it worse than the cities.
wooo hooo, we got a little over a inch last night. it just started snowing hard now. we probably have 5-6 inches on the lake with most of that from last week.
theres over a foot of snow out there now and its heavy and sticky. I dont think I want to risk going out there and breaking thru.
I don't have enough ground clearance for a foot of snow. think it will get thick enough over the next few days?
with that much snow it doesnt make ice very fast, will be lucky if it gets too much thiscker by the ice race
