I put out a thread a few months back and there was some interest shown over the clear bras. I did a few for MN subaru members and they were happy with the results. I will put this thread out as a feeler to see if anyone in the MN subaru community has picked up a new ride and wants to get it protected for winter. I know there has been some skepticism about pricing and there are places and products that are cheaper than what I offer but look at the links below and compare warranties and product tests. Ventureshield is typically more expensive because it is simply a better product. If you want it done cheap, I am probably not your guy but if you want paint protection that year after year looks great and has a lifetime warranty give me a call. The product that I use is Venture Shield and it is superior to 3M, Rockblocker, Ect. Here are the links. www.rockblocker.com $340.00 for a do it yourself kit 2006 STI (3M product) Hood & Fenders www.xpel.com Search 06 STI Full kit 749.99 DIY (3M product) www.clearmask.com 06 STI 490.44 (DIY) All of these kits have no warranty on the film and you need to install them yourself. Feel free to search but from my experience of using different films the ventureshield is top notch. It is used by maserati, BMW, Mercedes and was just put under contract with Land Rover nationwide. Here is the link to Ventureshield www.ventureshield.com or www.invisiblepatterns.com You may contact me directly at 763-742-3657 or PM me for pricing and any questions. All kits will be installed by me and offer a lifetime warranty on the film itself. Ideal Auto Bra Inc. Blake Aydt 763-742-3657
A few examples Here is a couple pics of subies ive done Top pic: Headlights, fender ends, hood front bumper, grille, fog light covers, and lower valence. Bottom pic: Bumper wrap, fender ends, mirrors, headlights, sideskirts (coming soon: entire hood, trunk, and front fenders)
I honestly didnt take the pic but I thought this thing was supposed to be on jackstands, fooled me I guess ray put wheels on it just for me. J/K
The prices listed above are for 3m film which is inferior in quality and warranty. I would never promote an inferior product to subie enthusiasts. Plus my pricing is not posted but typically ranges from 350-500 and that is installed with a lifetime warranty.
Hey guys, I just wanted to chime in on this one...Quality is something I look for, I've seen 3M clear bras and have seen a slight fade (yellow)...on my 02 Camry lease. But no lifetime Warranty which makes me wonder why...Anyways, with what Blake is selling and promoting...The part that really makes me believe in the product is when the product offers a lifetime warranty and the nearest competitor doesn't even offer anything. Also remember the cost includes quite a bit of protection, not just the HOOD...typically hood alone ranges from $125-$200 and nothing else...depending on the material...
so stop look'in! Was that deal for just the hood protection? Nah...I like it without the Grill...I think it looks mean Can't...it's glass, can't paint it like my headlights and tail lights. If I add a film it will melt...it is way to hot (real HID)
Guys...seriously if your thinking about this for your Subaru or any other cars u want to protect...give Blake a call, No Charge ...He can explain better than I can...He will do CUSTOM cars as well...Exotic to Classic
I will be at white bear subaru today and maybe firestone this evening so if you see me or my 01 RS stop by and say hola, hello, valkommen, or what up.
yeah that stuff kicks but... ray i feel bad for your radiator with all those horns, how do you get any air!? good thing its cold up there HAHA
Your car goes 60MPH, I dont believe it!!! gotta motivate the hamsters under the hood quite a bit to reach those speeds.
^big time.. I wonder if I go fast enough with the ventureshield start to peel? lol...speed of sound maybe...
^Cool...I'll let Blake chime in on the 3m lifetime warranty...cuz he is telling me they do not offer anything...
3M warranty?? I did some research and here is what I found: 3M's warranty What is covered? 3M warrants that Scotchgard Paint Protection Film will be free of defects in materials and manufacture for five (5) years from date of purchase. This warranty does not apply to damage caused by misuse, accident, misapplication, or ordinary wear, nor does it apply to dents caused by physical impact of rocks or road debris. This is a direct Quote off of the 3M Scotchguard link http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/mediawebserver?66666UuZjcFSLXTtMxM64xMtEVuQEcuZgVs6EVs6E666666-- Unless something has changed the only thing that 3M will warranty is that the film will be free of defects and it is a warranty only offered to the installers not the customers themselves. Unless it is explicitly warrantied by the installer and the terms of the warranty are spelled out, I've never heard of it. Ventureshield's Warranty VentureShield is a clear, thermoplastic urethane film made from 100% aliphatic resin. It’s ability to resist yellowing, and offer the highest level of abrasion resistance is unparalleled in the industry. Venture Tape Corp. warrants VentureShield® Automotive Paint Protection Film against cracking, bubbling or turning yellow. The warranty is valid as long as the installation is performed by an authorized Venture Tape Corp. installer in accordance with manufacturer’s recommended installation procedures, and as long as the original purchaser retains ownership of the vehicle. Link: www.ventureshield.com This warranty is supplied in writing to each of my customers with a 7oz. can of plexus cleaner per care instructions. Furthermore (just to be thorough): here is a link to an independant test done in impact resistance and UV fading with Ventureshield Vs. 3M http://www.ventureshield.com/newpdf/Bodycote Comparison V 3M 1204.pdf
That test is 3 years old. I'm sure it's a great product but that's not exactly a fair comparison to todays products.
I would say that I'm like Ray, and look for quality and good prices. With that said, I have been very happy with the quality of the clearbra film. I would also note that the price was fabulous for the product you get, especially if you count that he covers the whole front of the car. Thanks again Blake!
response Thanks for the bump, I know for most of you, like myself. $350.00 to 400.00 is a good chunk of change to spend, but if you have a new vehicle and are planning on keeping it for some time, tally up the cost of carwashes, wax/detailing etc. It is far less over the lifetime of a vehicle and usually they pay for themselves in resale when the car is in brand new condition. All I know is next time you get behind a gravel truck or a plow throwin sand out in front of you, you would be happy to have something bettween it and your paint. Thanks again
Blake, I'm going to get this done at some point. Sorry I can't be more precise than that, and especially after I get the RS repainted we'll put it on that one too.
Bump prices just went up across the board...competitors are @ $700 for a front cover, talk to Blake before his prices goes up! FYI Dealers are up'in the price on them too...as much as $350 on just the hood Clear bra
Thanks What he said... I know that the dealers in this state and others are retailing this out at $900 for the full kit also. As soon as I am done with rays car, hopefully tonight, I will take pics of everything I did... Once again thanks for the support and PM or call me for scheluling and any questions.
Blake wraped my front end. I have no complaints. I took a nice size rock on 94 about a week ago hit the passenger side headlamp. it sounded like a freaken gun shot, and that was the light. I thought forsure there was gonna be some damage. I found a small tear in the shield on the light, with some work I tore the shiels off, and there wasnt a mark on the lense. I called Blake and he siad he would replace it free of charge. He even offered to drive to my house to do it. Great service Blake. I love the producet!!
