so i'm driving over to the bank today... decided to take the long way because of how nice of a day it is, following this car at somewhat of a distance. I notice him / her jump across a lane about 4 car lengths ahead of me ... change speed, then jump back over in the next lane.... leaving behind what I thought was a possum or something. So as I drive by i'm thinkin.. damn ... that thing looks like a big skunk..... but... we don't have skunks iout here in the winter.... so I u-turn at the lights... and realize, it's a cat. They jumped out of there way to hit a cat. So I slow down, put on my hazards.... and a nice lady sees what i'm doing so she slows down and stops the traffic so I can get the cat out of the road. I set the cat in a manner that if anyone recognises the cat they won't be mortified by the site of there pet. I spent the next 40 minutes knocking on the local houses seeing if anyone was missing a big black and white cat... never did find the owner... the rant starts here.... I don't give a crap how bad you hate animals, others do... and thats someones loved creature. Theres a story behind that animals life that makes it valueable to someone..... and maybe that was the only thing someone had going for them. this person doesn't deserve to drive a car.... and if I knew your plates, I would follow your ass home and make you go door to door with cat in arms and deliver the news you filthy fuk! end rant.
alot of people hit trees, other things and put their cars in ditches trying to avoid animals and this idiot changes lanes just to hit one? (unless they were trying to avoid it, and the kitty decided to run the wrong way) anyways if they did hit it on purpose thats just sickening, ugh, people +1milliongabillion to you for stopping, moving it and trying to find the owner, that's awesome
Some people these days, just don't even take responsibility for their actions. Not to hijack or anything, but someone ran into my car in a parking lot, leaving a dent in my rear bumper. They just drove off, nothing of sorry or anything. I wasn't even at a huge place like a Target, but a small restaurant. So yea, to relate, what happened to freaking ethics and morals?
awful, I just don't understand the hatred some people have for cats! i have three and sure you can't teach them things like a dog, but they are some of the smartest animals around. lets see what a dog looks like after week in the outside world on it's own. The cat always looks like he's doin just fine out thjere, unless some A**HOLE is trying to hit him with a car...
That somebody would do that to a defenseless animal makes me sick. I think you need to move, though, Skarecrow. So far you've encountered two *sshole Mustang drivers and some f*ck who intentionally aimed for a cat. Tell me what town you live in so I never move there. Or drive through it.
my god, im not a huge cat fan, but i would never TRY to kill any animal for no reason...makes me think of my dogs...sickos!
This was in applevalley... I forget the name of the road, but if you take Mcandrews towards county 11, and take a right at that 4-way (county 11 goes left, and it might even still be county 11 that goes right... but I thought it had a different name) it was maybe 2 lights before pilot knob. this was a big big cat.... rather pretty too... all black, white paws... no collar. ((people, put collars on your pets!)) I really wish I could have found the owner of that cat, I would hate for ANYONE to find there animal like that..... and if I left the poor thing in the road... someone else would have hit it just to hit it. I'm a softy when it comes to animals, and I turn my head on a lot of ****, but damn people instead of being the mean to be mean, be the someone who does something that you just didn't have to do to be nice.... you get 50x more kudos and feel so much better.
Are you sure they weren't trying to miss the cat and it just went the wrong way? I don't even try to dodge animals anymore, you can never predict where they're going to go and you're just as likely to hit them if you swerve as if you keep on straight, and you're a lot more likely to hurt yourself or someone else by swerving. What you did was a good thing, trying to find the owner(s), but I think it's possible you're seeing malice where there might have been nothing but good intentions. Maybe they should have stopped, but then again, 99% of all cats I've seen outdoors don't wear tags, so (as you found out) finding their owner(s) would be pretty much impossible. Sometimes the animals have microchips implanted (like my cat) that can be used to identify them, but again, it's not all that common. We don't let our cats outside, too much traffic, and one, my cat, is terminally stupid (but affectionate and loyal).
