Hey all, So after almost a three year break of not owning a subie, I'm finally back. My most recent was the Saabaru that a few of you saw and helped work on in the summer of '07. I loved that car to death and appreciated all of the work the members here put in to help me get it to stage 2+. Some of you may remember that the car was totaled in Duluth, nearly head-on into the tunnel wall on I35. It was a mix of misfortune and my own stupidity that caused the accident, and also was one of the worst points in my life due to the aftermath of the accident... I've owned a few "nice" cars since, but none have lived up to the way I enjoyed my Saabaru. I've spent the last few months searching for the right car, and started looking around for another 92x Aero. I finally found this one a couple weeks ago, with more options than my old one had, low miles, and a neat color. Two days ago my girlfriend and I rode my Ducati ST4 out to north Detroit to get the car. The seller was the best type of guy to buy a car from, middle aged, original owner, completely anal about his vehicles, works for GM, and a fellow sport(touring)bike owner. He included his 4x8 trailer in the sale, a complete set of winter wheels/tires, a bike rack, and a large array of little extras including all records, manuals and brochures. Was a great car buying experience. She pulls that little trailer with my bike flawlessly, and I still got 24mpg on the freeway the entire way back. As for plans for the car... I'd love to get it back to the way I had my old one, TBE with UP, a good tune, and go from there. I'm not sure if I'll have the funds for that by the time I head back to school, so for now I might try to find a cheap A/P or good stage 1 map to flash and enjoy. Great to be back, here's the only pic I have at the moment, but there will be more!
I don't have another turbo legacy up pipe for you this time but I have 2 eBay ones with flex sections if ya need. Nice car!
Thanks guys! I'm very excited to be a part of the clan again! Up pipe - Check. lol, I remember you came through in the clutch bigtime with that one! I'll keep my eyes open for a decent TBE, then maybe we can have another subaru install party!?
You weren't in fargo a few weeks ago were ya? I saw a saab with a license plate "saabaru" and I enjoyed it thoroughly haha.
