    Most definitely!

Well we're not on the same playing field.

It's Road America every games gotta have it. LOL

Its a fun super fast track, hard on brakes, balls and trail braking.

Well after the first day someone has agreed they might need just a bit wider tire for the BM V2. LOL 255/40/17

This is the National BMW CCA event called October Fest which is held annually at a well known track. This is the first year they have hosted it at RA. There are all kinds of cars here; everything from a race prepped BMW to a Austin Martin. It's a week long event with lots of Driving Schools like Gym gymkhana, AutoX, Street Rally, Club Racing School, high speed lapping and many more.

When you have a 1998 2.5 NA Subaru Impreza RS with Hawk HP+ pads, ATE blue brake fluid and NT01 tires there not much you can do about catching these guys on the long straights. The best we could do was corner entry, the car is very capable of diving into the turns very fast even with soft stock suspension, and though I'm flat out at mid corner we can only exit as fast as the 160hp will allow. You can see this coming into turn 12 thru 14 in the video. Another example: I let a corvette with full race tires pass only to catch up to him at turn 5.

Tomorrow we are are going to do a tire test comparison between Fuji's Nitto NT01 (heat cycled) and Shoua's Toyo RA1 (shaved/heat cycled) both 235/40/17 on the RS. Because we will not be able to get a clean lap we're just going to do corning speeds with a GPS. Well these two have been going at it with each other since we started talking about which tire would perform better so we're going to put it to the test. But you know what I think....who ever buys me lunch will be guaranteed to win for sure, since I'll be the only one authorized to pilot it at this event. LOL

So feel free to enter your guess below.

First I want to thank Shoua for letting me drive his car at this event and Fuji for making the trip and letting us use his tires.

What kind of times are you guys doing.

I'd be curious about the tires, claims of the RA-1s and NT01s being the same compound but I haven't seen proof, just hearsay.

Road America really is a world class track, love going there.

+140mph is very scary on this track. I got a chance to ride in one and it pretty much melted my nutz.

I'm amazed just how fast the ALMS cars take turn one, they are probably doing 180mph.
