Are all the images gone in the old threads? I'm trying to look back and see some images. They are not even showing as a bad link icon.
Yep, they were lost when the site forum software was changed. The pointers in the database and the system image naming conventions are different and based on system timestamp at the time of upload, so keeping them in a conversion is usually an issue.
Russ would have to answer that. But odds are, they are going to have stupid alphanumeric gibberish names, so finding your file would be a pain in the ass. The year 3 backups for t3hw00t had something like 50,000 files. At least they used the original filenames with an appended number based on timestamp. So you could search for parts of file names. Not sure VBulletin worked that way. I think it renamed the files entirely.
Well, a bunch of the old images were lost from vb3 to vb4. They (VB) couldn't even get it right. There are also tons of linked images that the owners have since removed. They you get into the VB to XF conversion. All linked images will still work (assuming the owners did not remove the pics) and most uploaded pics should still work. This forum has gone through 4 different software changes over the course of moving servers multiple times as we have grown over the last 9-10 years. The majority of the lost pics are really based off of how the original users posted the pics to begin with. The current "attachment" database/folder is just a hair under 3GB. Is there something in particular that you were looking for?? I can dig into it a bit to see where the original pic might be. Russ

Yeah, I must have moved them in Photobucket and never put them back up. This one was a bad example. I was just surfing around the old posts and saw a lot of "look at this image" or similar and there was no image.
