yes this is a Spinoff thread: I generally use crutchfield.com to figure out what's going on with this stuff, but they have something really wrong with their install kit for our new 2008 Outback. The in-dash kit they'd supply, here, doesn't look anything like our console. As you can see So I don't know what we're supposed to do. We were told the factory nav system would go in the top section between the vents and that the whole thing would get replaced with the factory unit. So what can we do if we ever wanted up upgrade?
I think i'm picking up what your putting down. You have the Auto Climate Control feature which has a different center console apperence. Take a look at these terrible parts catalog pictures. Does your OBK have the look of the bottom stereo and climate control? View attachment 23266
Yes your picture matches up with ours. I think it'd be awesome to be able to put something in up by the clock. Maybe we'd only need the OEM pocket for the OEM navi system...
