ok so i have a hp dv6000 series laptop and i need someone to solder in a new dc power jack as mine sucks...would anyone be willing to do this for me? right now it is mostly disassembled, some minor work needs to be done to get the main board out but i gave up after worrying i was going to break something. i am willing to pay for your time

Are you sure it's soldered onto the mainboard? The two HP's I've taken apart just had a seperate DC in jack that simply plugged into a header on the board.

No it is not soldered, theres 2 screws holding it and the cable splits to 2 connecting onto the motherboard

If yours is not working I have one for sale (Power Jack)

If you know how to take a laptop apart you can replace just that unit

And did you still need the battery? I am reopening a FS Thread the same laptop
