I have the standard craftsman and it works great... but I now have a IR titanium or soemhting in both the 1/2 and 3/8 and they are awesome.. you can get the newer quiet hammer ones too... all depends on what you wanna spend and how much constant use...

And P-C is owned these days by Black & Decker, which has consistently downgraded the quality of the tools it buys up (DeWalt, for example) for the sake of larger profit margins.

I've got a P-C compressor. Half the screws on it have fallen off due to vibration. You think they might have tought about there being some vibration in an air compressor...

I do like my P-C nailer a lot, but not as much as my Senco guns. But that's neither here nor there.

Good choice. My impact is an IR, and you saw how well that worked after 4 years of my abuse. Just make sure you oil it regularly and don't let too much water sit in your compressor.

yes great choice... should think about a 3/8th one too in your shop.. you would be amazed how much you will use that on smaller bolts when you just dont quite want the big bang from the 1/2 inch (and I aint talking about Ray)...

I have even used the back of mine as a hammer.... they are tough.. you wont be dis-appointed

I've got a 3/8" butterfly impact, and I love it. Gets in where the big guns can't and packs a surprising punch.

Not at all. The air inlet is on a swivel, so any space big enough to get the body of the tool into, you can use it. I've used it in blind spots where I couldn't even see the bolt I was taking off, and could barely get my arm to.

My friends dad has one of those. I took off the rear strut bolts on my car when other impacts couldnt. however you have to watch out some companys re-write what a ft-lb is to inflate there tools. I am not sure which it is but the claim to have alot of ft-lbs but in reality its nothing special.
