My first up and down pipe installation was a failure. I have an exhaust leak. I can't seem to find it, the problem with finding it is that it doesn't seem to leak until the engine is under load or I rev it way up at a stand still. I don't think I can find it unless some one wants to drive around while I ride sitting on the engine After driving around for a little the leak is still there but it is less of a whistle. So I said screw it and I bought all new OEM gaskets and I'm going to rip it all down and start again. Now that I have done it once I don't think it should take too long(knock on wood). If anyone wants to help tomorrow in Oakdale around 4 let me know. I have a lift and all the tools. For the record I have Helix (Flex) Up and Down pipe. Oh and I plan on relocating my oil pressure sender. And if anyone wants to install my springs feel free
I might be able to come give you a hand at night if you wanna wait until then. I'm in North Saint Paul and I have an uppipe leak too. Give me a call if you're gonna do it after 6 or so. 651-307-8527. Good luck if I don't see you. Tim
Give me a call around 4 and I'll let you know if I'm gonna make it or not. Depending on the weather I might head out on the boat tomorrow. I'll get directions from you on the phone when you get call. Thanks.
Update: I'll start off by saying thanks to Mnbodyman for helping me out. We installed new gaskets at the turbo for the uppipe and down pipe but still a spooling whistle noise. We decided to call it a night but ofcouse I just couldn't leave it at that. after Mnbodyman left I put it back on the lift and changed out the other gasket between the up pipe and header. I thought "Thats gotta be it" but ofcourse that did not fix the "spooling whistle" sound.} Everything is cranked down as hard as I can get. I'm starting to think that noise is just going to have to stay. Maybe one of you experts can listen or take a look, I'm stumped.

Sounds like you got the exhuast side down. Only way that stuff could still be leaking is if you had a flange that was warped or pipes at funny angles to where the flanges wont meeet up flush. An exhuast leak that bad you should SMELL also! Smell exhuast coming out right under the hood?
Have someone who owns a car with a catless downpipe take a ride. When my turboback went on I was convinced I had a leak. Turns out it's just very whistley and whooshy. Took some getting used to.
