Hey guys I removed my intake sliencer this summer and had no issue until yesterday. I pulled the silencer and put a piece of pvc to suck air in the fender. Yesterday the car bogged down after a whole day of driving around, and the check engine light came on. I checked everything and finally opened the airbox. The filter was damp and there were drops of water on the top of the airbox. Anyone else had this issue? The motor seems to run fine at idle, I hope I did not damage the engine... I am going to clean the airbox and replace the filter, and maybe add another piece of pvc to point downward... Any other suggestions or ideas?? Thanks
its all good, a little water never hurt anything. lol. maybe try rigging up a spray shield to prevent water from reaching your intake
Just out of curiosity, I assume a straight peice into the fender... I'm sure you checked to make sure the wells were back in place and the water isn't getting kicked up by the tires while driving...

It could be as simple as you say and turn the intake down, I had one car that would choke with water, and I just made a "low" spot and a backward slanted hole with a small diameter bit for water to drain.... Just a thought
Car is running great, I replaced the filter and let the airbox dry out. The CEL went out on its own. I added another piece to the pipe to point down, power is back and its running strong. Now time for the uppipe and downpipe .
When we get another good rain could you post if you get any more problems? Too bad we didn't think to say take before and after pictures....
