"04 STI motor failure root located" http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1141982 fixed...
wow! i never would have expected that piece to fail. i guess it just couldnt handle the PSI, better upgrade to a JDM one to be safe and fow mre oil lol. This thread does now make me worry again that i may have forgotten to re-torque that thing down when i last had it off. i guess i will know if it falls off.
WTF? Something so little and cheap that causes all these problems. I'm going to get mine changed just to get it changed.
Is it only the 04 STI and not the 04 WRX? I looked like all the peeps were having these issues on STI's... If only STI then hopefully I have little to worry about...
Dang. That sucks! I guess maybe even I (with an EJ257 engine) might have to watch for the "oil" light.
The WRX has a different oil pan, so a different pick-up (I'm pretty sure). so I'm not really worried.
just shut your engine off RIGHT AWAY, if the light comes on, no damage should accur, it would be the same as a cold start.
Here's a very good thread on this issue. Read the whole thing when you get a chance... http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1019710
