The internal wastegate(IWG) bracket is used in place of the stock wastegate actuator when moving to an external wastegate setup. In the previous years Subaru owners had to weld the IWG shut on their turbos which diminished resale value, had the chance of cracking, and made it very difficult to revert back to the stock.

Through a partnership between GrimmSpeed and Area1320 we are bringing you the solution to this problem, the IWG Bracket. This is a basic bolt-on which takes 5 minutes to install. No more worrying about the wastegate door opening due to a cracked weld, no more worrying about trying to sell your turbo with welding all over the wastegate door. Feel like reverting back to stock?...simple, just unbolt the bracket and you are good to go.

I saw this on your site the other day, definately a great idea. Especially for TD04 and VFXX owners that want to be able to sell the turbo later as an internally gated setup. It is definately worth 25 bucks to not have to remove the turbo and find someone to weld the wastegate shut, then reinstall it.

exactly. we have sold so many of these in the last month because of that. once you weld your turbo your resale goes right down the toilet because people know that you up'd the boost and beat on it. also you have chances for the welds to crack...i've seen it happen many times on nasioc.

Better overall VE, especially at higher RPMs. :)

i see... so you can get higher boost and more airflow at higher RPMS?

do the internal gates tend to leak some or what?

basically you can tune and control your boost 10x better with an EWG, plus many people make 20+ hp on just an ewg tuned up, EWG FTW!!!!

Basically the "hole" in an internal wg setup is smaller than the hole in an EWG setup. Therefore you aren't choking off the system as much, especially under conditions where there is a ton of exhaust flow (ie, high rpms and high boost).

it does once we get the stg2 tune solid as a rock. i need to do a couple comparison runs on the stg2 map once its done and then we can go ewg.

dont worry at all about the jack, technical discussion is always good to talk about.

also way less turbulence in the turbo housing when you take the wastegate out of it.

doubtful. we do have a db20g one that you might be able to modifiy..not sure.
