Hey everyone Im new to the site and bought a 02 wrx wagon at the end of September and have been loving it since I bought it. I work at Napa in Anoka so if any of you guys are up that way or around there and see the car stop in and Id like to get to know the guys around the area. Im living in Ham Lake so if anyone lives up around me let me know so that I can get to know the cars around the area when I see them. This car has many firsts for me, lol its my fitst Subaru, first foreign car Ive owned, first turbo car, first all wheel drive car, and first 4 door car. Im prolly missing a couple in there but thats all I can think of at the moment but yea idk what else to say but if you have any questions just ask.
Do you have pics? I used to live out in Isanti but know i'm in the metro. Make sure that you keep an eye out on the Event Section. We have weekly meets and a couple-few bigger get togethers that you should try to make it out to! Welcome , congrats, and share some pictures of your new ride!! -Josh
Ill try to get pics up this weekend. The car is a wip (work in progress ) for me lol. Its not the nicest but its a daily and my only car atm but its a fun little ride thats for sure
Slow down Josh. He's new, you keep these tactics up and you'll be talking to Chris Hansen...... Predator
Thanks!! A customer that came into the store referred me here so I was like alright Ill have to check it out, so I did and Im liking it so far
Im sure at some point in time I will spot you. I am up in the New Brighton area. Probably relocating to blaine / ham lake in a few years too... Welcome to MNsubaru.
Yea maybe depending on where in Ham Lake/Blaine you're relocating to. Im sure we will catch a glimpse of eachother sometime lol.
Alright here are some pics of the car just off my phone the car isnt completely clean but just to show everyone my ride
Nice car! Good luck on the headlight resto, tried it on mine, polish didn't work, so had to buy some aftermarket ones.
Thanks! It still needs a ton of tlc but its getting there. Like on the passenger side door, im working on pulling the dents out then finding a front bumper has been a real chore. We have a 3m headlight kit at work that Ill try and see if that works. Its seemed to work for other ppl but I may have to get aftermarket ones if it doesnt work too well
I used the 3m brand and it turned out really well only have an after pic, but trust me they were quite yellow and foggy before. Good luck and take your time.
And tape off the fender/bumper/hood/grille where you'll be wetsanding. You don't want to get the paint with the sandpaper.
Hey, I know you! Glad to see you made it on the board here. Lots of good info on tap and even more good people. Many good times to come with the Subaru!
@Ryan FailRad do you want to meet at the oreileys parking lot off lake drive at around 6 maybe a little later depending on your schedule that would work for me @toyotanos yea I thought I'd get on a forum to learn more about these cars and all that good stuff
Will do Ill do it when I get out of work. Itll take me about 20-25 min to get over there from my work
Yea but there was another bugeye wagon at the festival foods that we saw and they had the mnsubaru sticker on the back window too and we are still trying to figure out who that is lol
hmm, the only wagon i ever see is @Ryan FailRad , minus the other WRB 11+ hatchback wrx. I've seen a WRB bug eye sedan around pizza hut off of lake drive though.
Finally got around to finishing the lights and it does make a world of difference at nnight. Next project on the rumble wagon will be exhaust and getting it tuned. Stay tuned for more updates guys
Heres what my hood looks like with the plastidip after the second round of the ppastidip cause the first one didnt come out even om both sides and I havent been able to fix it cause I've been busy or its been raining. Now looking back at the old pics, I think it looks better with the plastidip and I havent seen any other wrx with the hood like this
I've seen hoods like that but only in video games. That looks freakin awesome. When do you want to do mine...?
Seriously??? Youll need to buy a full can of plastidip and tape and some newspaper or something to cover the area and Ill do it whenever. Ive got a little touching up to do on the curves but yea Ill do it. Ive got Fridays and Saturdays off and if youre serious about it let me know and Ill do it. Im experimenting with my hood and stuff and seeing how well I can get the lines on the plastidip and theyre turning out pretty well so far.
Yea Id be down for that. Let me know or stop by napa tomorrow if you can. Im scheduled till 4 but sometimes I stay a little later depending on how busy we are to help get caught up. Or you could stop by any other night till Thursday cause Im working till we close at 9. But either way let me know.
@Mokamba Look a couple posts up and youll see the plastidip job on the hood. It looked really good on that car too. Ill start another thread for the Forester soon everyone
